zaelu Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Could we have buttons for layers and categories instead of those dropdown menus? They could be styled more like MFD buttons (aviation like) and they would save a lot of PC mice around the world. Some are very expensive :) . I'm thinking at something like this... only more stylish As is now is very annoying to config and reconfig and reconfig and reconfig with all these beta and control settings changes. Please! Please! Please! :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
cichlidfan Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) I don't see the improvement, in fact it is worse, since it makes it less obvious what you are working on. I have, also, yet to wear out a mouse. EDIT: How is this more time consuming and annoying? Flagrum Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I think, this is an interesting solution ... ... for a non-existent problem. :o)
MariuszDW Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Search field. Sometimes, when I only have general idea what I'm looking for and / or don't know in which category is it, I export settings to html file and use CTRL+F. Not a big deal, I almost always have browser open in the background, unless it's one of those troublesome builds (like 1.2.8 beta). And it's not like I have to change settings every day :)

Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. That road goes down and down. zaelu Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) Hello, thanks for replies guys. Obviously I joked about the mouse. And obviously ergonomics are debatable... especially after one get's used.. or not with one system. I... kinda hate the current system. :D I always struggle to find categories. Now in 1.2.8 beta the layer always defaults to "Su-33". Now place this window to 1024*768 resolution. Well... Oculus Rift is around the corner and has doubler and larger resolution... poking dropdowns there will be even difficult I think. Given the 32bit was abandoned... who plays DCS in 1024x768 resolution on a 64bit Windows 7 or 8? Then... a old version could be always available as backup/alternative. Choice not forced. genbrien Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Now place this window to 1024*768 resolution. sad that in 2014 developers must still make the GUI compatible with that resolution :( Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mobo: Asus P8P67 deluxe Monitor: Lg 22'' 1920*1080 CPU: i7 2600k@ 4.8Ghz +Zalman CNPS9900 max Keyboard: Logitech G15 GPU:GTX 980 Strix Mouse: Sidewinder X8 PSU: Corsair TX750w Gaming Devices: Saytek X52, TrackIr5 RAM: Mushkin 2x4gb ddr3 9-9-9-24 @1600mhz Case: 690 SSD: Intel X25m 80gb
