VAF [136] Striker Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I just set up a remote server with Windows 7 64 Pro. It's not going to be a public server, just one for people in my squad. I have read a bunch of stuff about managing it remotely. I can manage it here in my office OK but I want to know the best way for remote management. There are going to be a few guys in the squad that will be trusted to load missions and to restart the server remotely if that's possible. One of the suggestions was to use Windows Remote Desktop. Is that the best way or what is another way? Also, where is the information for setting up ability to vote on missions to change them. I don't know if that is necessary if we're going to do remote desktop but I would at least like to read up on it. Thanks in advance. sorcer3r Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I recommend TeamViewer. [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
VAF [136] Striker Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) I recommend TeamViewer. Never mind, I figured it out. Doesn't Teamviewer require that someone on the server end be there to log the remote person in? I appreciate your suggestion but I'm looking for something that can be used to manage the server remotely without my needing to be there. Unless there's an option to allow someone to log in to the system remotely that I wasn't aware of. Blooze Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 There is a password created by the server that allows the remote user to log in regardless of whether or not there is someone at the server end provided that the server is up and connected to the internet. I do it numerous time each day. Be sure the server has windowed mode selected in the DCS options. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
