it may be not a big problem, but the newest monitors are more and more thinner than before, especally for the broader stand of the Track IR.The problem is, how do you gays fix your Track IR to your monitor, is there any other attachments made by yourself for better fixation of the Track IR.

In addition to the fixation, it's also useful to adjust the place of the Track IR camera.

I'm not an engineer, so I'm using a machtbox and tape:D

Is there any better solution?

okay some interesting ideas posted here, my solution was rather unique because I broke my stand. So I use a dab of hot glue and an old security camera ball joint mount. Couple of high-strength magnets so it is removable and problem solved...! now I have it mounted on its own arm telescoping from a camera tripod which actually sits on my desk behind the monitors, which I can then reposition anywhere within Eye shot and completely free of the monitor. I will try to get a picture of it and post additionally, I will have the old-style IR reflectors and instead of using the the bill of a baseball cap. I clip it onto the headband of my headphones.

it's interesting for sure and smart. But the question is,will it be low for the eye-shot if the camera is on the desk instead of on the monitor and how is the angle of the camera above the desk? I'm very glad to see how does the tripod look like.

I have mine on top of a thin OLED panel. The clip will fit that with no trouble, the legs articulate to fit the thinnest screen.

I can’t imagine you would need something so ungainly. You can just clip it to the top of the screen.

@Lenux

I'd look for a phone holder for in a car, that you can attach to the back of the monitor and that can stick up over it, and has a ball joint on the phone holder (most do). That way, you can make a 180 degree bend and you can twist the holder to the perfect angle.

For example:

Etc. There are about a gazillion options for this.

Key is to find a flat or moderately curved surface on the back on the monitor where you can attach it to, and then figure out what length of holder you need to make it go over the monitor.

Many options, thanks a million, guys.

I'll have to check every link.

Now, I'm trying to figure it out, if it's worth to replace the 10 years old Vector clip for the TrackIR 5

A lot of people say, Clip Pro ( or Delanclip) is more accurate than Clip Vector.

I could buy either the Delanclip or Clip Pro, but I don't know how to mount it on my Dan Clark E3 headphones.

I'm not going to replace those headphones, love them.

Thank you, again

TrackIR doesn’t need anything special to fit on a thin a screen. That’s mine along with a webcam on an OLED panel.

Easily fixed with some velcro adhesive tape and a wee bit of foam (which may end up not being needed). Very effective and completely reversible.

There are many other similar velcro adhesive tape products but, for example, something like THIS.

In case the angle is too steep, or simply to create some support, you can also cut some foam (styrofoam, or regular foam, whatever works) to fill / shape the space, if necessary.
Most products these days come with foam inside the boxes to secure content (and any type will do).

You just need to be creative. 🙂

As for the IR clip for headphones, I'd recommend a wireless one that is TrackIR camera compatible.
Some good ones out there, that are also far more robust than the TrackIR Clip Pro.
They're not cheap but are worth considering.

DelanClip Fusion:

Grassmonkeysimulations (either Puck or Odissey, the TrackIR camera compatible ones)

Some newer monitors have standard camera equipment threads so you can look for such a thing if your monitor has one, mine does have one on top of the pole i.e..

How many advice givers on this thread even own a TrackIR? It doesn’t need any tape or glue or any such nonsense. 🙄 Nor do any webcams I can imagine, they’re made to fit the top of a screen. This is a silly topic.
