I've been asking some questions on gadroc's forum and getting nowhere.

It seems the things I need to do are related to Helios 2.0 but Gadroc seems to have disappeared since early 2013, and unless someone knows how to wrangle Helios 1.x to do what I need then I'm hooped and completely blocked.

In particular I need to use Helios with a sim that does NOT have an existing interface, and I need to know how to use my own custom button graphics for push and toggle buttons.

Am I going to have to find a different solution to Helios?

Thanks for any advice.

Thanks for the quick response.

But how do I create a profile when I can't specify an interface?

Do you mean pick any interface and it will work for SENDING key presses and macros, but just won't visually update in signals RECEIVED from the new game?

If so that's fine as the game in question doesn't send anything out.

The interface you are going to select is the keyboard, then you can use the keyboard interface to send key commands from helios to your application, triggered off touching the buttons on your helios profile.

I don't have a 'Keyboard' in the list from the 'Add Interface' list.

I'd show you a screen shot but I don't even know how to paste that into this post! lol... <facepalm>

You should have a keyboard. Many existing Helios profiles would not work without it.

EDIT: The keyboard does not need to be added (so it is not in that list on purpose). It is already there by default.

I created an entire profile for Rise of Flight using buttons and switches transmitting keyboard commands.

Helios is not dead.

It runs very well with 1.2.8 and it is the best spent $20 I have ever done for gaming software. Plus you pay for it only if you want to reward Gadroc for his great work.

I completely agree - it's amazing work that should have been very commercially successful and he deserves every penny he can get.

However, that doesn't answer my original question - is the project dead? I.e. No more development, no more support, no more anything.

Software development is not easy but I would love to see more DCS interface added to Helios.

Helios is a great interface. I wouldn't be flying this sim without it. Yet it would seem the Gadroc may have moved on to other things. the UHF radio issue popped up with 1.2.7 and there hasn't been any word from Gadroc about it in several months.

That might be a good thing because this issue is forcing me to build a pit. :)

The software is still very useful.
