javelina1 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Looking for a little help, via an AMD/ATI & Video expert. :) My current DCS video setup: - using the HD7870, with the 14.4 drivers - Primary display is a 24" 1920 x 1080 - Secondary display is a 20" 1600 x 900 (for Helios & the Cougar MFD extractions). Fortunately, my motherboard can support (2) PCIe slots I have a 2nd video card available, it's an AMD V4800. If I add it into my rig, could I use it to drive my 2nd video display and all would be ok with DCS? Was hoping to take advantage of this 2nd video card, to help drive the 2nd display, and free up "load" on the primary display, (for FPS). Right now, my rig is running A-ok, but I like to tinker, and I have that 2nd card just sitting collecting dust. Would like to see if it could help with driving Helios and the EMC extracts on via 2nd LCD. Sorin Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 The only DCS usage for a 2nd video card and monitor(s) is for "non 3D" stuff. That can be Helios buttons and gauges, but no MFCD exports. Also the kneeboard is 3D so it cannot be displayed on the 2nd video card. The moment you display anyhting 3D on the 2nd video card the FPS drops dramatically. This is the same for Nvidia and AMD cards.

Once it does that, you are not 'using it' for anything. Once it does that, you are not 'using it' for anything. Exactly, I just wanted to point out that I was using EMC to extract what is possible, via DCS, to a 2nd display. Hence, what extractions I'm using "native" via DCS, (the MFD's), and what I'm using via Helios. I'll stick with the single card.
