Hello and :helpsmilie: please.

I am having this strange issue when trying to join any DCS multiplayer server - the game just stays on the 'Mission Loading' screen when I click the 'Join' button and doesn't do anything.

I am connecting to the Master server alright, and can see about 60 servers with descriptions and everything. Ping is normal.

No issues whatsoever in any other games, my router is set to DMZ for gaming. I was flying P-51 online before (1.2.3 version), everything was fine before.

Obviously I tried searching the forums for similar issues and tried deleting the networg.cfg and network.valve files in Saved Games etc, but no avail. I also tried disabling the Windows 7 default firewall, I have no other security SW installed.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as instead of :pilotfly::joystick: I am just .

How long are you waiting? It can take a minute or two.

There are log files in the Saved Games folder under your windows user. What does it say in net-server.log?

Thanks for your reply! I tried waiting 10+ minutes on several servers, same result = nothing at all. :(

The net-server.log file contains information from the last successful session in September last year (Robo. joined Blue in P-51... on the server etc.). There was no entry from my attempts today or last week. Also, when I deleted the whole DCS folder, the file did not create itself again.

Is there any port I can check for dcs multiplayer other than 10308?

Version of DCS World on the server differs from your one?

Btw there is no other reason to DMZ all your gaming than temporary encircling connectivity problems.

Rongor - I don't know, I am running the latest 1.2.8 version. I reinstalled the the game from scratch using the latest installer last week just because of this issue. I assumed that there might have been something wrong with the autoupdater etc. I tried several different servers from the list, but none has worked for me. Is there any way of checking the version on the server?

Paganus -

this is how the net related bits look like:

00140.035 INFO NET: got serverlist reply.

00140.037 INFO NET: Parsed 80 servers.

Just tried the above server with no luck. 10308 is visible via canyouseeme.org - I am not sure if that's necessary at all. :(

Thank you both again for trying to help.

Well I remember vaguely I had this once. And as far as I remember it was something about different game versions. But if you in fact have 1.2.8.27915 installed, this is a dead end.

I assume it happens regardless which server you try.

Did anything change with your hardware since your last successful connection to DCS MP?

Yes, that's the version I am running and yes, regardless of which server I try.

I installed a new GPU since then (and I had to re-activate all my modules). Nothing to do with networking I suppose. :noexpression:

10308+10309; i was told so at least when i first tried to host a mission online...correct me if im wrong guys!but i dont think this should be any issue when only trying to join a server...

now i know you have already installed it from scratch...did you use the current dcs world download from the ED site, or maybe a old one you still had on your hard drive?i know you have probably thought about that, but still i thought i would ask....just want you as soon as possible to fly online!

hope you have it sorted soon mate!

I had a guy on my server last night who was having frustrating issues as well- his only workaround was to download and install the steam version.

That worked for him though even folks from ED replying to his service ticket couldn't explain why it worked. But it did!

But first, humour me:

I'd like to know more about where this GPu install happened in relation to your software reinstall. And what GPu was it? Did you stay with the same overall brand (ie nvidia / amd) or swap?

Do you have issues while loading instant action or playing single player?

I noticed you deleted some network related files but I'd also be curious about deleting the entire dcs folder in the saved games area and see what happens. Or maybe not delete- just rename the existing dcs1 and let the game recreate it.

Failing in that, try the steam version install. Sounds like a lot of work but all that can be done fairly quickly.

DavidRed - I downloaded all latest installers from here:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/

I deleted the old one I had backed up. I only kept my settings *.lua file, but having these issues I also tried removing them and using the default ones. No difference whatsoever.

ENO - thank you, I didn't even know there was a Steam version. I will look into that, good idea.

As for the GPU, I swapped my 560Ti for 680GTX (nVidia), I am having no issues in single player, all nice and smooth. I made no changes whatsoever to my router or network setup.

I also tried deleting the whole DCS folder in \Saved Games.

Steam version = light on the end of the tunnel, so I will give that a shot right away

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated!

I'll bring my server up right now... if you get this soon, go into "Eno's Firehouse" and try to connect. Post your log in here and I'll post the server log. That may help to identify what is happening?

Worth a try anyway.

EDIT: Sorry- took me a bit longer to get the server up. It's up now.

Issue resloved - I don't know if ED did something on their end after I raised a ticket with the tech support, but it's working now at least.

Thank you for your help everybody, much appreciated.
