Razor5-1 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 There are more videos on youtube of people reviewing joysticks and HOTAS setups and track IR with this thing than anything that's a flight simulator, I cannot fathom it at all. The only space simulation is of a space shuttle (space shuttle sim 2007). Why are people investing so much in joystick setups to play something that isn't a sim, the thing cost a few hundred too I believe to get early access?? What is going on? Is it just me or is this all madness? I can see and have no problem with the cost of sims cause they're such a niche market based on real world machines, this is a game of make believe. It appears to be driving the cost of joysticks up too!
outlawal2 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 For the same reason SCI-FI sells.. People love science fiction and apparently will pay big bucks to simulate it.. No different than us except for the fact that the programmers have a LOT more leeway because they can just make up what they want and don't really have to worry about real world.. Aircraft: A-10C, Ka-50, UH-1H, MiG-21, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, A-10A, Su-25, Su-25T, TF-51
starsky396 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Orbiter is definitely not a realistic simulator.
otto Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 To me any space combat "simulation" is something i'd get bored in 5 minutes. You can turn on the spot in any direction and they call it dogfight.
