Hi all,

I just got into into this, I heard it was okay not a deep study sim but I am having a ball.

I just got my new Mustang P-51D next is a F-86 Sabre.........

Get it here the base game is free to download ................. http://warthunder.com/

All the Add-ons are here .............. http://warthunder.com/en/store/addons

Have fun if your interested!

I love the missions, campaigns and the terrain detail is awesome even the GUI is really kool!

Yeah I have read heaps already in their forum about many wishes, requests problems etc

But I know the War Thunder Devs definitely want to ramp up the realism and FM code. It will take a while.

Although all round its really a well developed product getting better as it develops.

I am impressed with the constant patches, updates and fixes thats a good sign.

Who else is here from over their?

Well I just started I think its a great fun.pilotfly.gifjoystick.gif

For those who love WW2 Dog Fights! :D EDIT - Well.............. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125117  :smilewink:

Cheers

Hi Wraith,

WT is in my opinion more of a flying arcade game, rather than a simulator. Even the old IL2 has better flight models. I'd agree that terrain is probably the best looking in a game out there, but maps are pretty small, as far as I know.

I don't think that the devs of it would invest in seriously developing the flight models, because only a small percentage of their players would be keen on it. I think that a significant portion of their players, don't even have a joystick. That said, WT may serve as a pool for attracting people who want to make the jump from an very basic FM to a detailed study sim, such as DCS.

cheers

The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life to experience all three at the same time.

Yeah, by who? Call XCOM, 'cause there's a whole lot of UFOs happening in War Thunder.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

ED forums isnt really the place to review other games, I will say this, its like BF for me, and I enjoy BF, its quick and easy fun, just happens to be in 3D representations of WWII aircraft. If you take it for what it is, its a nice easy solution to mindless fun... but it wont quench your simulation thirst.

I really tried to like it.

I flew it for about a week giving it time to sink in between the bizarre abnormalities I saw in the flight model representation. I had a sip of coffee, took a deep breath and tried to convince me it was just another "perspective" into the world of flight simulation. :dontgetit:

I even unlocked a few planes from repeatedly farming online and single player.

However, in the end, it just started to bother me. I really admire those who like it and fly it well. I just found it not to be my cup of tea.

Like I said, I believe it's a much more "flexible" view into the flight simulator world. It didn't cut for me. :pilotfly:

My Proplem with WT is that its not a simulation of the Aircraft.

Its a game where Aircrafts work like the player expect they should work.

Just saw the Sabre video. That's not a Sabre!!! That's an X-Wing disguised as a Korean-era fighter!!! :surprise:

That guy pulled a 12G loop at 900+km/h that an RedBull Racing Su-31 would have difficulty performing at 200km/h!!! surprise.gif

This game is definitely funny!!! :)
