Team Speak 3 Overlay Issues

Installed the Team Speak Overlay plugin yesterday for using in DCS A-10, every time I entered an activation key or key combination, I would apply it and close the settings window and it would not open it up, I would do it over and over again, every time I went back in to set an activation key, it would be blank. No error message at all, it just would not keep the activation key. Anyone else have this issue? i google searched this issue for the DCS A-10, but nothing found to resolve it? Thanks

I guess you must check with Teamspeak support. A side monitor solves all problems ;)

I did check through some threads over there,, DCS seems to have some unique issue with it.

I have multi monitor setup, one for Helios

FYI to help others, Although I did run into some threads discussing some particular issues with DCS, the bottom line now is that Team speak no longer supports the team speak overlay. this comes direct from Team Speak tech support. Perhaps some time in the future, the author of this plugin will resolve the matter. Till then,,, no overlay

That's strange, because when I check TS-web, I see:

You can get an older version of Teamspeak HERE that is still compatible with the overlay. Just don't accept the updates when prompted.

@Blooze, great idea! does the lack of updates have any negative impact while on another server where others are updated?

I don't think so but I have only used my TS client with one server other than my own. I am using version 3.0.13.1 with the overlay and all is well. The worst that could happen if there is a conflict is go back to your current version.

There are also different versions of the overlay available. Click HERE for a list. I recommend using one at the bottom of the list to assure you have the latest and most likely compatible version. Once you have a working combination it would be wise to keep copies of the files stored for future reference if needed.

The question is WHICH plugin you want to use. Overwolf is part of TS, or better said, is distributed with TS-client. Apart form that, there are two, maybe three other overlay-plugins as user addons...

I noticed on the last round the other night, there was no means of uninstalling the TS3 overlay, not even through Uninstall programs. I found no approach to remocving it either via a google search, sure I found a few things suggested, but it was very complex!

 

Fortunatly I use Acronis and do backups often, I simply restored the drive back to an image file from last week and I was back in the norm.

That's what I do. You should be able to delete the overlay by deleting it in the main Program files/Teamspeak/plugins folder if needed.

ok,, so far I installed the same version of TS3 you have, and installed the last 2 versions of TS3 Overlay on the list you provided, same issue, I will putz around some more. I didn't realize until yesterday that TS Overlay was a development by a 3rd party, and i initially had no idea what Rhinox was talking about until today. Now I realize what he is talking about. I have fiddled a bit with Overwolf,, not sure I like it yet, I only want names to pop up showing who is talking. I am not sure if Overwolf is a resourse hog or not? I dont need all those gadgets, Im looking for simplicity,,, way to much going on with Overwolf for me I think

Try going to settings/plugins to make sure overlay is checked and overwolve is unchecked. You may have to delete overwolfe before the overlay plugin will work. If it were me and it was important enough, I would delete all traces of teamspeak in all locations and start with a clean slate.
