SU-25T: ecm and ir jammer indicators - DCS World 1.2.9

Hi all,

 

I've been flying the SU-25T only for a couple of weeks and I have some issues with the ECM and IR Jammer systems.

 

ECM

- I mount the two MPS-410 pods for the ecm.

- I press default key E for activate the ECM

--> I don't see any "reaction" from the aircraft: i.e. no light, no switch, no click...I read somewhere that a light on the right wall should blink for 15secs during warm up of the system then get steady.

I see the light bulbs (there are 2) but they're both always off.

 

Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

 

IR JAMMER

- I activate the ir jammer with the default key LSHIFT-E

- I expect that a light on the left front panel (over the Weapon Control panel) gets on but it's not like that. See image for reference (from the DCS SU-25T manual)

- Instead a red flag becomes visible on top part of the HSI with letters K and R (i don't exactly remember). Photo is from manual, not current situation. Later maybe I will try to post a video.

 

 

So, are these bugs or normal operation? If bugs are they already known?

How can I understand that the systems are working?

As far as i read in the Forums, the Indication lights for ECM and IR Jammer do not work anymore, don´t know which patch broke it, but its like that at least 6 month or more.

Workaround is: count the key presses

You know, that's hard to tell. Not all the SAMs being shot at me do actually hit me and this applies to Radar and IR guided ones.

 

Though I usually do drop a lot of chaff or flare when I hear the BEEEP BEEEP --- BEEEP BEEEP

 

I don't think ECM works that great, but I don't know if that is realistic or not.

 

You cannot turn it on and hope it's all good. You really have to work to get rid off a homing missile

 

or you are dead in no time. Does it help,.... I think so, it helps a little bit to gain a few seconds or close in a bit more to get the kill done....

 

just my experience, mainly with the Su-25T's ECM and IR Jammer...
