Just wondering as I'm in the process of building that particular unit as well as the FuG25a IFF panel for my pit so im wondering if i can leave that one or the other be for a while and make my better half happy lol. Little_D Posted February 2, 2015 Share Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) I found a few (potential) issues with the way the EZ42 is modelled in DCS for the Fw 190. a) Is it functional at all? I could not 1. EZ42 Ballistics A justment Control Box (right panel) see much of a difference of the reticle placement when playing around with the settings. But that could also be because ... b) The default settings are that both rotaries are set to "0", but only rotary I can be used by us as the rotary II is seemingly hidden under a cover and is not clickable. The problem here is, that according to the attached adjustment table, rotary II should be set to "63". d) Why is the rotary II not adjustable by the pilot? The table suggests, that there is only one setting necessary - but the Luftwaffe manual shows an example that, while the values for rotary I are quite the same, rotary II is to be set to different values as well. 2. Reticle not correct? The adjustment table, which is attached to the control box, hints that we have an EZ42/A1 in our Fw 190. According to the Luftwaffe manual, this version should have an aiming cross with tick marks (in degrees) to help aiming/estimating the lead when dropping bombs. Or it is a placebo for my eyes. try this in missionbuilder or with a friend online so you dont have to make a mission: i testet it with a friend, he was flying at 3000m and i was behind him at 150m same speed, guns on, gyro on and Adjustment Control Box to zero. open fire and watch the tracers, they will all go over the other plane, so you have to put the gunsighn even with gyro on a little bit under the plane you want to shoot, to hit something. than make the same test agin, but this time set the Adjustment Control Box to 93 ( because of the 3000m ) and open fire again and watch the tracers, the go all into the plane i shot at :joystick: . after i found this out, it becomes easy with this gyro to kill the p-51 with a short burst of all guns. regards Little_D e Edited February 2, 2015 by Little_D 1./JG2_Little_D Staffelkapitän 1./Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen" "Go for the leader, if you can.
