Fakum Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Ive looked around, went through the manual, I have a question I dont have an answer too. I know you can broadcast your SPI to a group member, but can you broadcast that SPI to ALL members in your group globally at once as opposed to hooking each member and sending? Thanks Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
Eddie Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 SPI broadcast is always to everyone on the network, which in the case of DCS is everyone flying an A-10C on the same coalition. Are you mixing up SPI broadcast and SADL target taskings?
Fakum Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 I might be a bit confused, so let me create a scenario. TGP= SOI, I slew to a target, crosshairs on i then TMS UP Short to point track, them I TMS UP Long to make it my SPI. Now how do I broadcast my SPI to ALL in my group? Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
MacEwan Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 What Eddie said. You'll see it light up on the top right corner of your TAD page.
Fakum Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 Thank you all kindly, I will be bold and ask another question while im here. Say I broadcast that 1 target in that fashion, then maybe I see another target and I apply the same method? In other words, can I mark multiple targets one after another and have them show up on my Groups TAD? Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
Eddie Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 SPI broadcast continues until you turn it off, again DMS left short, it is continuous and updates several times a second. In short they will see your SPI move around in near real tim, it isn't a single point mark.
Fakum Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 Ok, so I cannot neccisssarily mark several targets and have them see say 3 show up on their TAD as 3 targets marked by me. I hope that statement is correct or I am lost again. Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
MacEwan Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 That's right, as far as I understand it, the SPI follows your targeting pod. So as long as your broadcasting SPI then every couple seconds it will update your SPI to others in your flight. But you can't mark and send multiple SPI points, I think.
Fakum Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Ahh,,, markpointing multiple targets, then broadcasting them,,, thats interesting,, not sure how to do that either? Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
Eddie Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Won't go into detail on the process but in simple terms.... 1. Lead identifies target and creates waypoint and/or points SOI at said target. 2. Lead broadcasts SPI (there is specific brevity and comms flow for this, but it's detail I won't go into to here) 3. Wigman/Element lead hooks SPI via TAD, and depending on the exact command given by lead, either copies it to a new mission waypoint (TAD OSB 17) or sets it as SPI and slaves their sensors to it. The most common method would be to copy the point as a mission waypoint.
Fakum Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Thank you for that info. I certainly understand that protocol when your in an orginized MP Mission, but Im thinking more in the lines when you hop in a server where you have guys popping in and out during the day. I know when I hop in, there are others already working on targets and I ask where their current OA is and I simply head over and help the cause, then you have guys leave during this process as well,, sort of fluid conditions. Ive learned a lot about how to broadcast to all just in this thread alone, I figured I would indulgent a bit further,,, thanks all Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit / ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming / AMD 7800X3D / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram / SSD M.2 SK hynix Platinum P41 2TB / MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G / SteelSeries Arctis 7 Headset /LG-Ultragear 38" IPS LED Ultrawide HD Monitor (3840 x 1600) / Track IR4 / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Virpil HOTAS VPC Constellation ALPHA-R & VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle
