Frostie Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Not sure if im missing something but on the beroza RWR the signal strength 'from' an SU and F15 are similar but the Migs is much weaker. I thought the mig and SU radars where the same ,so shouldnt they give off the same strength signal? Its as though the signal is based on the size of the aircraft emitting and that cant be right, can it? "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. Jay Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Hi Frost1e, Su-27 and MiG-29 haven't the same type of radar - the Su-27 uses the N-001 and the MiG has N-019 which is somewhat degraded in terms of range-detection capabilities (because of its smaller antenna diameter) - look at the page 115 of the Lomac manual for some additional info about Russian airborne radars. Gazehound Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 IIRC there are about 4 bars difference between f15/Su27 strength, and MiG29/F16/FA18 strength. VVS504 Red Hammers

ED Team Groove Posted March 21, 2006 ED Team Posted March 21, 2006 Arent the russians using a new RWR ? I think the KA-50 has a newer, other looking RWR Display ? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
GGTharos Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 No, the Ka-50 doesn't have an RWR. The 'newer' RWR used in new Russian fighters is the SPO-32/L-150 Pastel. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

GGTharos Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I'm sorry but ... this Ka-50 gave up its RWR for an ABRIS :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
