Flagrum Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 EZ42 has a backup or iron sight? Or what is this? If it is a backup sight, why isn't it centered? 1
Flagrum Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Ah ... never mind, I figgured it out already. It is a backup sight. In front the Y and at the left edge of the glas plate - part of the frame - the thicker, upwards pointing "A" shape. Lining up the Y and the A like using a rifle and the guns are pointing to the target. And the offset from the center of 2-3 cm doesn't really matter anyways.
MACADEMIC Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 How to line up the Y and the A? So that the top of the A touches the imagined line between the top of the Y? Or that the top of the A touches the bottom of the V? MAC

fastfreddie Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Good find and I don't remember seeing this in the manual. Had anyone else seen a high number of EZ42's being disabled due to gunfire? Probably the most common battle damage I've seen to the Dora and almost to the level of disabled governors on the P51.

But most of the time when I lose my sights I also lose my guns... however on the rare occasion I can still fire them it's great to know the iron sight is there. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

In manual is only one sentence about this, germen word is Hilfsvisier Help/backup sight. EZ 42 manual site 13: ,,After successful optic adjustment, adjust Iron sight to sighting triangle." It is part of manual describing how to adjust gunsight vertically and horizontally. Sighting triangle is mark on pattern used for adjusting gunsightsight and guns. Example of BF 109G-5/6 pattern. Good to know. A different sim i used to fly, some guys actually put an aiming mark-point on their monitor screen as backup. Edited August 22, 2014 by DieHard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
