shift611 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 This is just a wish list thing but oh please, please, please couldn't we have an upgrade to the training videos in FC 3 for each aircraft. The ones we currently have are years old, the sound is terrible and the video graphic is awful. I know there are loads on youtube but why not "in house" so to speak". :helpsmilie:
AtaliaA1 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Kind of a waist of time when u think about it. So much training on Utube to stop or dedicate a group to training would result in higher cost an slower development time. In the future this might be an addition though. I would think using the best Utubers' to do it would be great. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. shift611 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Yeh I know, its just me wishing really. There are some good youtubers but by the time you view them and then go back to the sim I forget half of what they say. I suppose what I'm hoping for is if there is a FC 4 then please update the training vids. Thanks for your thoughts anyway.
Noj Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 One way I learn a new aircraft to fly is to actually download the YouTube video(s) concerned. Then I have two options - either watch it and take brief notes - or even full checklists - that I can refer to when flying, or actually play the video on my netbook whilst flying the sim on my PC, pausing as necessary. You could do this 'live' from YT - but I like to collect all similar videos and rename them etc. I agree with you, though - especially for new pilots the last thing you want to have to do when you buy a new sim is go looking around the internet to learn to fly it.
Vedexent Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Maybe what's needed is a more coordinated community effort? Sure - I'd love the professionals to do it, but there are some people making professional grade tutorial videos out there (check out Bunyap Sims) Perhaps some organization, editorial oversight, wrapping-it-all-up-under-one-easy-to-find-wrapper action, is what's needed.

Ive had my joystick for two days now.. And Im still searching the web trying to find out how to fly the F15.. All I can do is so far is manuver and fire cannons. The ingame tutorials belongs to the stoneage compared to where were at in terms of graphics and physics. Just a shame IMO. Probably the most dificult thing for a newcomer is whics functions and buttons to map. Theres ''3'' buttons for weapons such as Cannon, Weapon release and Fire weapong.. Still dont know what Weapon release is but Im guessing it is releasing bombs.. how bout rockets.. Do I launch rockets with the Fire Weapons or the release key? Ive managed to get a lock-on on a bandit but never got the rocket to launch. Swaped between different weapons with the D-key as default. I wont give up though :) X-55 profile for the F-15C
goldshe Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) Kind of a waist of time when u think about it. So much training on Utube to stop or dedicate a group to training would result in higher cost an slower development time. In the future this might be an addition though. I would think using the best Utubers' to do it would be great. Eagle Dynamics could make a competition. Make a list of tutorials that need to be done and redone (like "F-15 takeoff", "A-10 unguided bombs", "Advanced aerial maneuvers", some topics absolutely uncovered, like "Weapons and their performance in details") and a sublist for each tutorial of absolutely necessary information that has to be included (for example, F-15 takeoff tutorial should absolutely cover engine startup, flap usage, taxiing, etc., etc., but navigation lights and items of less relevance are optional and recommended, but not obligatory), and also technical requirements (like the video has to be filmed in at least 30fps 720p, the voicover has to be clear with no static and so on). Then the community would make their own tutorials and submit them to Eagle for review. The best ones are chosen and creators of tutorial awarded something. A new upcoming module for free, maybe? This way everyone wins. Eagle doesn't spend resources and time making tutorials, community gets involved in the development and creative people get to be creative and produce quality content, and hell, you may even get something out of it.
