CypherGrunyev Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I know theres other threads about this, but I didn't get solutions by doing any of the steps in them. Could someone please walk me through the repair of this? Its an extremely infuriating issue, especially because I only get a few chances a week to actually play DCS Now. Man I could really use a navigator right about now. i7-3770K @ Stock MSI GD-65 Z77 Mobo G.Skill Ripjaws Z [16GB] @ 2133 Mhz AMD Radeon HD 7950 [sapphire Tech] @ 1150/1600 Mhz OCZ Vector 256GB [C:/] Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB @ 5900RPM [D:/] Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB @ 7200 [E:/] Western Digital Blue 1TB @ 7200 [H:/] Corsair AX850 PSU Corsair 650D Case [so Sexy <3]
AtaliaA1 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) To avoid a repetitive attempt at "Process of elimination" U should tell us what U have done so far. First thing I would suggest is the "Repair" that is in the Start/All Programs/DCS blah blah blah .....section. Then I would suggest the C++ Redistributed files here. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2019667 Edited August 20, 2014 by AtaliaA1 C++ This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. kazereal Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Symptom of crash is often the same (access violation) but cause may vary. Usually (in case of DCS) happens when correct VC++ runtime is missing or wrong version, DirectX is not updated properly or drivers are not updated properly. Also check updates for Windows and so on. CypherGrunyev Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 So to start, I repaired DCS World through the "Repair DCS" Exe. Then I tried to launch DCS, and no dice. I installed the latest C++ files, and still, no dice. Should I try un-installing all forms of C++, and then re-installing only the 2013 version/or using repair? Flagrum Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 regarding the error Lua::Config: load error .\Bazar\Effects\Damage/Fire\High\fire.cfg:can't open '.\Bazar\Effects\Damage/Fire\High\fire.cfg'. I think, this is "normal". I saw this line in every log file I have seen so far.
SkateZilla Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I think the Windows Application Crash Info would be more useful than the .logs at this point. ie, if specific Module's DLLs are causing the Cx---05 Error we can limit to specific Visual C++ Versions or files. Stonehouse Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Got this one last night while testing a mission. I joined the mission as an observer because I was testing to see if ground units would dynamically choose some paths and make it to their objective (Bushmanni's route.lua) and walked off to have dinner and watch a movie as I knew they'd take several hours to make the trip. Came back to find it had crashed after about 45 mins. Repeating the exercise bought the same results. - System - Provider [ Name] Application Error - EventID 1000 [ Qualifiers] 0 Level 2 Task 100 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2014-08-21T13:30:30.000000000Z EventRecordID 91746 Channel Application Computer Security - EventData dcs.exe 1.2.10.30996 53dfa9c0 lua.dll 0.0.0.0 520bdd97 c0000005 0000000000001850 1b3c 01cfbd41811c2c9d F:\Games\DCS World\DCS World\bin\dcs.exe F:\Games\DCS World\DCS World\bin\lua.dll 515844da-2937-11e4-a456-f46d044fd341 <edit> Realised that last night I'd used time accel 2 so tried again this morning fresh after a cold boot. This time ran for 1:33 before crashing. Different error this time, so don't have a clue. DMP file was 3.6 Gb so not much use. Did notice the word Unknown below in the byte data. Seemed to happen right after the last unit in a group was destroyed. Group was two ZSU23 trucks, one Ural 375 and a Sk11 command. The group was due to respawn automatically using RAF's automanv3.4 script. Probably not assisting the OP really so I will stop at this. - System - Provider [ Name] Application Hang - EventID 1002 [ Qualifiers] 0 Level 2 Task 101 Keywords 0x80000000000000 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2014-08-23T04:24:52.000000000Z EventRecordID 91849 Channel Application Computer Security - EventData dcs.exe 1.2.10.30996 18b4 01cfbe7cfcb38727 225 F:\Games\DCS World\DCS World\bin\dcs.exe 55006E006B006E006F0077006E0000000000 Binary data: In Words 0000: 006E0055 006E006B 0077006F 0000006E 0008: 0000 In Bytes 0000: 55 00 6E 00 6B 00 6E 00 U.n.k.n. 0008: 6F 00 77 00 6E 00 00 00 o.w.n... 0010: 00 00 .. SkateZilla Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 the VRC_redistributable setup is needed if your Visual C+ Libraries aren't up to date. Most of the time, if they aren't DCS Will run, but crash when one of the commands for the new Visual C++ comes through it will crash DCS.
