spiderlily Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 HI, can someone please explain to me (or point me in the right direction at least) how to talk with ATC in the Sabre? I am not able to tune in to any tower and when I look in the mission editor to the radio channel presets the lowest frequency allowed is 225 Mhz and ALL the towers are at a lower frequency. What am I missing here? :(
uboats Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) I think no one can remember all channels and their corresponding freq, so I made a mod and you can try this mod http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127844 after takeoff, use ralt +/ to open the radio menu Edited August 30, 2014 by uboats [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My DCS Mods, Skins, Utilities and Scripts | Windows 10 | i7-4790K | GTX 980Ti Hybrid | 32GB RAM | 3TB SSD | | TM Warthog Stick | CH Pro Throttle + Pro Pedal | TIR5 Pro | TM MFD Cougar | Gun Camera: PrtScn |
Robin_Hood Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 The latest patch has added UHF frequencies for each airbase (so that the Sabre can contact them). I know Gudauta is the default channel 6 preset. I think by clicking on the airbase in the mission editor it will show you all the frequencies for it. 2nd French Fighter Squadron
Buzzles Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 As Robin_Hood said, more frequencies have been added, and all airfields now have three freqs. One is the normal one for modern planes, one is for the F86, the other is for the Dora. Currently the only way to find out the freq is in the mission editor. Also you'll have to use the toggle mic button (ralt-/) for radio when the Sabre is in the air as the normal / to get the menu up is bugged. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
Vedexent Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 In the mission planner you can also change the channel frequencies, so for the air strips which don't match up with "factory preset" channels, you can match them up to channels.
effte Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 farmerjoe, you gave up on the F-86 as the radio is correctly simulated and can be used to contact ATC at the airfields? I have a feeling that there is a bit of a communication issue here... care to clarify? ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
derelor Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Also you'll have to use the toggle mic button (ralt-/) for radio when the Sabre is in the air as the normal / to get the menu up is bugged. I think there is no bug. There are two different input assignments that result in opening the comms menu in the F-86F: 1. Communication Menu: "\" ("#" on DE keyboard) In easy comms mode (Options → Gameplay → Difficulties → Easy Communication Checkbox) this always brings up the communication menu (both on the ground and in the air) In realistic comms mode this key acts as voice call (when the canopy is open) or intercom (when the canopy is closed). The communication menu is only opened when the aircraft is on the ground so that the pilot is able to shout out to the ground crew from inside the cockpit. 2. Microphone Button: RALT+"\" opens comms menu both on the ground and airborne, but radio needs to be powered for PTT button to work 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
spiderlily Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Thanks for the responses guys. Uboats, your mod did the trick. I especially like the sub-folders for the kneeboard. I had been working with the Airbase data table from the supplements section of the FW 190D9 manual. It lists different frequencies for the 200 MHz range and I was trying to use them for the Sabre. Not sure if it is a mistake or I am misunderstanding what those frequencies (in the Dora manual) are for. Anybody know?
