ctguy1955 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I downloaded the P51 manual and read it. I am slowly getting things to work better, but many things are just really bad. I have an old Saitek X36F system that my win 8.1 64bit does see, but I cant install the software (tired the X52 one) and even my keyboard seems to be having problems when in certain scenarios. If I am in training and doing the takeoff with help procedure, it gets to a point where it wants me to hit the "W" key, and it does nothing and I end up just taking off and if I crash, I see a big commercial jet and cant hit ESC or do anything to get out of the sim, except CONT ALT DEL. If I am doing the combat mission against another plane, I cant get any F1 - F10 keys to do anything. I end up above my plane and can fire my 50 cals now, where before with another joystick, I could not. Im going to look for a manual for the WCS itself to see if there is one. Thank you for any help and advice, as I sure need it !!! Mike ************************** edit ************** I did just find a few things for the 52 and 65 stick setup and some info and am downloading them. Edited September 4, 2014 by ctguy1955
dooom Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 that sounds like conflicts going on there... do you by chance have the Saitek profile software running?? I'd say uninstall anything Saitek related other than the JS driver, delete your controls mapping in DCS (it will fall back to defauls on relaunch) and map your JS directl in the sim - dont use profiling / macros software if you can help it. Paganus Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Try what Dooom said. Install the hardware but skip the software. Get the stick to be seen in Windows even if it's a generic. Configure the controls in game only.
Soulres Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 that my win 8.1 64bit Well there is the problem right there.you got one of de'm newer models, yeah they tend not to be as,how you say "Reliable" if ya happen to find urself a older Model be sure to stick to it chap :megalol:
ctguy1955 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 I went ahead and ordered a X52, as the saitek X36F is jut not cutting it. Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it very much. Im having problems trying to change the skins, I go into mission editor but am too new to understand what the heck to do..... Time will tell.
