lucien Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Anyone else encounter bombs not exploding when dropped? Can't seem to do any CAS in the Mig-21 due to this. I'll post a track if no one knows what the hell I'm talking about.
Tetra Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) Make sure the tactical release switch is set (behind stick on centre panel). If it's not the bombs won't be fused and therefore won't detonate. Pg. 142 in the manual Warning: To drop bombs, you need to turn on the TACTICAL RELEASE switch (CL73). This will arm bombs fuses, thus allowing bombs explosion on impact. If you want to drop your bombs passively, leave this switch off. lucien Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Make sure the tactical release switch is set (behind stick on centre panel). If it's not the bombs won't be fused and therefore won't detonate. Pg. 142 in the manual It's armed. It is armed by default in hot-start.
Kuky Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 It's armed. It is armed by default in hot-start. It is not, I just checked it, so make sure you flip this switch to UP position, then the bombs will explode. No longer active in DCS...
Tetra Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 As Kuky said it shouldn't be on by default hot start or not. When the tab is moved and the switch is flipped in the up position the red light below illuminates as shown in the picture below. In this state it is on and bomb fuses will be active. WildBillKelsoe Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 also, keep in mind if you rearm with arming switch in up position, you have to disarm then rearm (flick the switch lights off then on) . I had a perfect setup ruined by this. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower.
