Inspired by the Strizhi performance I saw yesterday, I tried some aerobatics in the MiG.

I tried doing one of my favorite maneuvers, the bell or the tailslide.

The problem is, my engine flames out when I'm at the top of my climb.

My question is, is it even possible for a MiG-21 to do a bell, and if so, how?

You experience negative Gs during the maneuver, and that flames out the engine, something about fuel not getting to the engine or something.

Mig - 21 manual pg. 35

20. Negative g-loads may be developed for not longer than:

(a) 15 s at non-reheat engine settings;

(b) 5 s at reheat settings;

© 3 s at second reheat setting.

21. Flight with g-loads approximating zero (±0.2 g) should not last

for longer than 1 -2 s.

Well, that's it.

There is only one solution to the problem now. We need a MiG-29.

I've counted circa 9 seconds of 0g(+/-0,2) prior to the engine shut-down. Quite forgiving in my eyes, along with prior warning of empty dispenser tank - not that you could do anything about it at that point though, with such low velocity.

But I understand that not everyone sleeps with manual under their pillows! :book:

I've noticed also that when I get killed in a mission and try to jump into my wingmans plane to continue the fight ...engine flames out. Every time no matter the G, or speed or AoA... can not take control of AI Mig21bis with out flame out

You properly should create a thread under the Bugs&Problems section for that :D
