Hi guys!

I hope i post in the right section :)

Well, i finally found my joystick and controller that i bought 3-4 years ago and was ready to play some DCS!

First i bought X-Plane. I then noticed every time i was gonna fly, the aircraft kept going left and i had to use the rudder to go right, but it automatically went left all the time. I thought it was some bug with the game, so i decided to download DCS to try it there... Guess what? The same problem.

What could cause this? The joystick cant be broken by not being using it for a long time can it? I have downloaded the driver for the joystick ofcourse. Can anyone help me solving this? I really wanna enjoy DCS :)

I haven't touched Xplane in a long time but in DCS, the first thing I would suspect is a control conflict. Did you clear the default axis settings and set them yourself, or just fly?

Greetings and welcome to the forum, btw. :)

Ok, i think i found the problem.. When i go full throttle with the controller, the plane is going sideways. Taking the throttle back make the plane stay in line. So its the controller that is the problem, not the joystick.

But what the he** should i do?

EDIT: After signing throttle to a different button, it didnt work to adjust the throttlehandle to make the plane not go left. Sooo.. im back to zero.

EDIT 2: I tried to re-calibrate the joystick and i discovered this: http://i.imgur.com/PvxWQSV.png - notice the X/Y Axes. Thats how it looks like when the joystick is centered. That cant be correct?

Can you describe the problem a little more... Is it a yawing to the left, rolling to the left or both? When you increase the throttle, do both engine rpm's go up or just one? It might also help to know which plane you're flying. If you can hop in something with afterburners, then just go to full afterburner and make sure both burners are lighting.

That's odd about the x/y axis, but I don't think that's the problem. It looks like that would cause a shallow dive rather than a left turn.

It seems that ur joystic "skipped a notch" or one of them magnets is loosing its power and it's causing it to be off center.

WHat u can do( ofcourse if u feel strong about it) is to unscrew all the screws in the base of the joystick and check how it looks in there... if everything looks alright (both axis are centered) than try to buy a 10-12mmx2-3mm neodynium magnets and follow this tutorial made by me...

It might help with a little cost and effort..

Ofcourse it will void ur warranty so think twice before doing it.

I would really like to see a screen shot of your axis assignments in DCS. I think you may have more than one problem but I still think there is a problem in assignments.

It looks like the problem actually was the USB.. Tried a different port and it works perfect now! So thanks to you HiJack.

But the problem still remain when using the UH-1H. The chopper spins to the right just after lift-off. Or is it actually that hard to control a chopper...?

Uh1 is hard to fly. U need proper rudder and y an x-axis positioned for takeoff. I recommand check some takeoff and hover tutorials on YouTube

Ok, thanks! And thanks to everyone else who contributed in this thread. I really appreciate it
