Shaman Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 "ok they had their chance, now it's our turn!" I wouldn't admit to be laughting at a lockon track, but your voiceovers are actually enjoyable :) Yeah, Ironhand has just the right voice and "own style" for this kind of things. I'd really like to see Ironhand's Ka-50 tutorials in Black Shark retail. I hope you already talked to ED about that, Ironhand? 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
Ironhand Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 Another good work IronHand ... One question on the IR Jammer ... I remember that it took time to warm up. Do you switch it on/off in the mission? I was turning it on just before committing to the attack and turnig it off as soon as I thought I was clear. I wouldn't admit to be laughting at a lockon track, but your voiceovers are actually enjoyable Thanks. Glad you're enjoying them. I try to have fun with them myself and my sense of humor usually peeks through here and there. ...I'd really like to see Ironhand's Ka-50 tutorials in Black Shark retail... As of now, the tutorials will be done in-house. And that's probably best. Most likely tutorial-affecting changes will be made to Black Shark until very shortly before it ships. It's no accident that most of FC's tutorials were without voiceovers. It takes far less time and they can be done in the final week or so before "shipping". Shepski Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Nicely done Rich!! Great to hear you being so loose. :) I wonder what impact having the mirrors on would have on the file size?
Ironhand Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 Thanks, Mark. It's a LOT easier adding voiceover to video than to a track--not faster necessarily but easier because you can stop, backup, record, re-record, etc without having to start from the beginning each time. So it's much easier to be loose. Actually having mirrors on should, logically, reduce the file size by a bit. I fly with them set to medium resolution. If they were missing, their place would be taken with the higher resolution scenery that they otherwise block. Yes? No? Maybe? I know I'm a neophyte in the video business but I'm a fast study. I haven't had much trouble getting reasonable file sizes in my other work. But this is the first time I've tried with mountain scenery. The main culprit is, I think, simply the fact that the horizon is so much higher up the screen. Instead of easily compressible blue sky and puffy clouds, you have more highly detailed terrain taking its place--sort of the reverse of having mirrors turned on. Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Very good work - I doubt you could have made it smaller and retained the quality.
