Whats The point in Being able to walk around after you ejected ?

Is there Some kind of plan to have Some sort of escape and evade option ?

Would be kind of cool to have to make it Back to friendster forces to and avoid capture ( and this ending The campaign . But it seems enemy units dont even shoot at you when you are close .

It is more of an Easter Egg feature than anything at the moment. In the same spirit, they had made so the ejected pilot could drive an UAZ (long before Combined Arms).

Yet, they may make it more interesting in the future. They have already "upgraded" this feature slightly (at first other players in multiplayer wouldn't see the ejected pilot ; now they see him, though always in the place he has landed, they don't see him walk around).

Back in 1998 and 1999 in Jane's F-15 and F/A-18 a rescue chopper would scramble if you ejected in it's range and picked you up. In the campaign you could go on after beeing rescued while beeing shot down outside of Rescue made you MIA. Should be easy to do since it was already been done back then. "Sandy" did also scramble for A.I. wingmen of your flight.

This was nice feature and was easy to use in editor for single missions too. But it was nice thing to campaings , there was reason to fly damaged plane close as possible to friendly bases before eject. Its these small things that make even semi linear campaings immersive and intresting . :joystick:

In the 132nd Virtual Wing, when we eject our Huey squadron will scramble to perform CSAR operations. Once Huey's on the ground we are able to walk to the helo and embark.

Puts an extra dimension to the sim as KA-50/A-10C will be drawn in for overwatch of the Huey.

"Get to the chopper!!" :smilewink:

Cheers

Was that the one where you had a pistol after you ejected?

When I land and shutdown the plane, I eject myself, so I can walk home casualy :) That's one of the reasons :)

And in my editor free flight mission, I have air show crowd all over my parking place, so I can also greet the boys :)
