rrohde Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) I am also stuck in MiG-21 Bis key-loop-hell. This is what I get: The Activation Key is not valid any more due to significant changes of the computer hardware configuration I then use "Retry", which seems to get through the motion (even tells me how many activations I have left) , but in the end I only to get some sort of error -- see screenshot attached. This goes on, and on, and on... Needless to say, no other DCS module has this issue after my hardware upgrade. Help! :) I've already tried that registry thingy, uninstalled and re-installed the module... nothing. 1.JaVA_Platypus Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I had a similar problem and I have a solution. First make sure you have your activation key handy somewhere. (in an email or a textfile) Then, startup "regedit" and look for this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Leatherneck Simulations\DCS:MiG-21 BiS\Keys Delete it. quit the regedit program. Start-up DCS world and select any MiG-21 (quick)mission. DCS will ask for your key again. Copy and paste it from your Email or text file and you should be ready to fly. Happy Flying! :pilotfly:

I hope this won't happen too often, but when it does, I'll give your advice a try. For now, Leatherneck came through and emailed me a new key. :) PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com
1.JaVA_Platypus Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 It was not my original solution. It is not my original idea. But so many bug-threads pop-up all over this forum in so many places that this little gem of knowledge easily gets lost. Happy flying! Happy Flying! :pilotfly:
Kobymaru Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Hey guys, I'm about to upgrade my graphics card. Is there a way to not loose my Key?
Dolphin887 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Changing the graphic card only should not affect your product activation status. Power through superb knowledge, training and teamwork. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
cichlidfan Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Hey guys, I'm about to upgrade my graphics card. Is there a way to not loose my Key? Deactivating first is always best but, as Dolphin said, just a graphics card should not cause a problem (unless you have changed other parts in the past, as well). Kobymaru Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Changing the graphic card only should not affect your product activation status. Thank you. I just did and everything was fine.
