f86enthusiast Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Been keen to see a dedicated Korea group pop up. Suprised there hasn't been one focusing on this beauty yet. I know most are waiting on the Mig15 but plenty claimed allegiance to Mustang squads without an AI Dora. Might be due to many people's lack of interset, Id just hate to see the Sabre get forgotten. Might even consider starting a dedicated group of Korea flyers myself if time permits. On a side note there was a public Korean War Server that was public and i was repedetly given connection interuppted while other servers worked normally. Think it might be an un-updated server since Im up to date. Anyone had luck there? SgtPappy Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 If you created a squad like that, I'd join in a heartbeat. Only problem is my work schedule takes up most of my day so it would be hard for me, but I would really be interested. I hope as the MiG-15 comes into the game, both Sabre and MiG pilots will more active. And yes, I've been having the same issue with that server. I've tried joining multiple times and the error pops up as soon as I double click the server name.
MVSokie Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I think a dedicated Korea group would be cool. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Invisibull Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Look for my Sabre server up most nights. (Eastern Standard Time) As for the connection interrupted message, I believe it's because some servers were running the open beta version, so updating wasn't the issue. i9 9900k - GTX 2080 Ti - MSI Z87 GD65 Mobo - 64GB HyperX Predator RGB DDR4 3200MHz - Win10 64 bit - TM Warthog w FSSB R3 mod - TrackIr 5.
f86enthusiast Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) Happened in my up to date open beta for me as well. No worries! Invisibull, your server is fantastic for a quick dogfight and getting a feel for her in dynamic maneuvering. I'd like some historically driven mission without labels as well to get the full immersive experience. Historical flight times altitudes tactics etc are important to achieve that, they are not exclusive though to the expense of letting basic fighter maneuver skills errode. My view on things. Ill see if there's a viable amount of interest for a group of guys to focus on this and the 15 with a little F-51(P51) love. Bros flying jets and looking out 4 eachother would be the MO, thats what those heros of the 50s really cared about, their fellow comrades. Invisibull Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Hi F86, Most people who come to my server use my label mod, which shows other planes as a dot at what i think is a realistic distance. I could never fly with text all over the place myself, but spotting other planes is almost impossible for me without at least the dots. You can get the mod here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/270020/ Try it out and see how you like it. Hope to see you back soon. i9 9900k - GTX 2080 Ti - MSI Z87 GD65 Mobo - 64GB HyperX Predator RGB DDR4 3200MHz - Win10 64 bit - TM Warthog w FSSB R3 mod - TrackIr 5.
f86enthusiast Posted December 24, 2014 Author Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) Thanx for the offer Invisibull, I fly without labels 99.98% of the time and I am currently mod-less. You can thank the countless hours fixing 46 JGSME issues with me or friends, and the red butt of keeping Cliffs modded so I'm burnt out on them for now. On another note if you are interested in the idea of a getting either a group of Korea enthusiasts or simply getting a resource together of those interested PM me any ideas you might have or times you'd like to get together and fly. Haven't seen alot of responses of interest, nonetheless I am building a simple website and forums over the holidays and following weeks that will house "The Air Guard" and will focus on Korea aircraft to include Sabre,Pony, and 15 when released. All modules are welcome even with a Korea focus as are other simulators. Realism and history are the main objectives of this. Feel free to PM, and when I get the site up and have more info, Ill post in the squad directory. This group, while dedicated to accuracy is meant to be casual. OilcanHarry Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Hi Guys, Just getting started in DCS, and have no experience in sims at all. In fact this is my first post, and I get to wish you all a Merry Christmas. If you are interested in someone with no experience and having to learn from the bottom of the ladder, then I am interested in joining up with you when I am available. Thanks...Gordon.
Slick Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 f86enthusiast, great initiative. I'll join in a heartbeat as well -time allowing. Live in North Europe though, so timings could not be that easy (GMT+1). drop me a PM once your website is opened. It's been a couple of months already since I've flown (work/life not allowing), though it's all a matter of making time, right? I have flown the F-86 with a dedicated squad (51st_FIS) with about 6-8 guys regularly. looking forward and will keep my eye on this thread too. Would be interesting to see the interested people mentioning their time-zone in order to make this work.
f86enthusiast Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 Got a free site up and running to test the waters. Stop by. http://theairguard.enjin.com/home Expect further details in squad thread. I hope this works out, and I'd love to be a part of it :) Thanks Pappy, I had taught myself html5 code basics over several days and started using Dreamweaver to build a site but once it got to the details, time ran out and I said screw it and went for the free site. This was super important since the verdict is still out on Korean War interest. Feel free to register and make contributions to the site. I still have alot of content to add so keep checking in. Invisibull Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) I've registered on your site. Looking good so far. f86enthusiast Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) If anyone is interested this is something we might implement casually at TAG. This is a sample training program on which someone might use to get proficient in the Sabre. This is meant to mirror something you might've expected to see in training in the 50's. There were most likely many more flights but here is a shortened version. If you really wanted the military experience you could study the real Sabre manual prior to attempting this to get the ground school vibe prior to even touching the jet. If you have a 50's syllabus they used that would be cool to use that. kontiuka Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I enjoy the Sabre a lot and might be interested in testing the multi-player waters here. Would be interested in some good immersive co-op play at a semi-serious level. time zone: EST

jg6_bigglescdn Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I will be around for F86 missions in the evening Pacific Time weekdays and some weekend afternoons. Cheers! Biggs
f86enthusiast Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) Check, if anyone is interested early this week coming up we will begin to work thru those training programs. I'll post more on times over there and it will be open to Mustang and Sabre since they both participated in the conflict. The Mustang Training is geared 90% of the way towards air to ground. Signup for which platform you want to fly that evening we get together (can change on different nights just try to spend that night in the same aircraft type.) Thinking of maybe a Sunday evening get together around 8pm EST on either the Korea War Server, Invisibull's, or I can always host one. Teamspeak info is on the site. kontiuka Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I'll try to attend. Couple of questions. For the single player training, are there actual training missions somewhere or is there a plan for them to be made? And for the multi-player, there are things I'm a complete newb at. Formation flying, landing patterns, etc. Will I be really out-of-place in the multi-player training session? The planes themselves, F-86 and P-51, I'm fairly comfortable with.
