Yes but the engine is a turbine engine, not a reciprocating one, so it should sound like a turbine engine. Probably a mistake.

ED responded to the question where did the new sounds from tanks.

In one of the patches sound engines for all tanks will be refunded.

An error was made in the Lua files tanks.

the tank audios have been done very well i have no complaint on them.

 

 

Some people take CA very seriously (and justly so considering this is DCS and we expect a SIM)

 

anyway , for some people putting a diesel engine sound on M1A2 is equal to putting a prop plane sound on F-15.

It 'might' be that the m1a2 Sep is being upgraded to a diesel engine... when and how many I do not know.

You can take that up with general dynamics...this I was told by someone who works there on the tank maintenance crew.Its considered an upgrade due to support and logistics reasons....more mileage...less support trucks needed is my guess

Read your post, did some quick checking with my friend Google and I have to apologize for the quick nay-saying remark...

 

I stand corrected.

 

It looks like you (and your friend) are correct and the Army is indeed looking at fitting diesel engines into a new revision of M1 (M1A3?) with the goal of tripling the range while emitting 1/3rd the heat signature and adding urban capabilities that the turbine engine cannot currently meet. (Due to the 1000 degree temps put out by the turbine engine, troops cannot get anywhere near the current tank let alone ride ON one so the use in urban environments is greatly reduced.)

 

Interesting morph from VERY focused Battlefield monster to multi purpose vehicle / jack of a few more trades anyway...

If you want to M1A2 Abrams tank sounded like before with sound turbine, AbramsEngine, AbramsEngineMax .....

You need to insert (write) this line (red color) to file "M1A1 Abrams.lua"
