wildcolonialboy Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Hello all, I seem to be having a problem with my Vikhr missile (and others!). I'm in the Su-25 Vikhr training mission, I've followed all the instructions, it's locked, laser is on, ready to fire and I have launch authorisation, but when I press the space bar, nothing happens. I have tried holding it for at least ten seconds, it makes no difference. I encountered someting similar on the Su-27 helmet mounted sight. I used the sight to lock on to the aircraft, I had the lock-on tone and the R-73 was selected, I held the space bar for a number of seconds and nothing happened. Any suggestions?
Isegrim Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 you can try with alt+W (Launch autorisation) or check the buttons mapping in options. "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom
flare2000x Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 You have to hold the fire button for a few seconds for it to fire. I've held it for about ten seconds and nothing happens. I can fire other missiles (like anti-radiation missiles) and I hold the space bar, so I know what the sim requires, as it were. But for some reason, the Vikhr just won't fire. Nor would the R-73 in the Su-27 helmet mounted sight training mission
kontiuka Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I believe it's an issue with the training missions themselves. Since you have to press 'space bar' to advance through the steps, I think the mission gets confused when you use 'space bar' to fire a weapon. Try assigning 'weapon fire' to something other than 'space bar'.

wildcolonialboy Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 You have to hold the fire button for a few seconds for it to fire. Flare I found another thread online about this issue and the way to resolve it is to bind Weapons Release to another key. For whatever reason, it simply won't work as space and needs to be another button (I changed it to Num0 and cleared the usual Num0 viewing function as my mouse can do that adequately) Thanks for your responses though, I do appreciate it
wildcolonialboy Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 play the mission again, after you have save the track after you exit and attach it here, we can all help you out then :) I managed to find a fix; by binding it to another key, it seems to work fine there (which is odd, because when I was firing ARMs on the Su-25, it worked fine. It was just with the Vikhr and R-73 on the Su-27 that it seemed to refuse to fire) I binded Num0 as weapons release and it seems to work without an issue now. Thanks for your response though, much appreciated

Thanks :) Before I saw your comment I had found another thread that prompted me to bind weapons release to another key, but your comment explains why it is doing this. Thanks very much 1
