Art-J Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Hello folks. Just bought Mi-8 during latest sale and while trying to find optimal gfx settings for this hardware-demanding module, I came to an idea of turning crew models off permanently -they're "on" by default and I don't want to hit Shift-P everytime I start a mission. Is there a way to change this default setting by editing some files? I post this question in general DCSW section, 'cause the answer for it might come in handy in other modules as well. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
xxJohnxx Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 It probably should be possible to set this with the "Option->Misc->Show Pilot Body in Cockpit" However, it isn't. This was probably overlooked by Belsimtek. Check out my YouTube: xxJohnxx Intel i7 6800k watercooled | ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 | 32 GB RAM | Asus GTX1080 watercooled
Art-J Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 Yep, the straightforward option is not there. I don't know anything about .lua editing, but I was thinking maybe some of the modding gurus over here would know how this could be done. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Scarecrow Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I agree with the OP. I was not one of the folks who asked for a pilot body, because it does nothing for immersion. It just gets in the way :( Best to make a bug report because it doesn't seem affected by the options menu setting. Hopefully it may get looked at but holding your breath is not advisable.;)
AtaliaA1 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 People clamored for that in the early stages of DCs, before World was an itch in EDs pants. With EDGEs final bugs being worked out I see no reason to backtrack on this matter. Bug report or not, this isn't a bug (as it were gentlemen). This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. xxJohnxx Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Bug report or not, this isn't a bug (as it were gentlemen). Well it is a bug that it is not affected by the corresponding menu option... Scarecrow Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Actually all you have to do is set the option in the DCS gui to yes then ok it and then go back in and switch it off and ok it and then it will apply. :poster_oops:
Art-J Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Nah, just tried this method - sadly, it doesn't work. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
