I would love to do that (if I knew how to).

I need detailed instructions on how to save a track file and upload it

...

If you want to save a track, fly the mission. Quit the mission. When you quit, there's a "SAVE TRACK" button on the screen you drop to. Click it. Name the track and save. The default location is in the Saved Games/Tracks folder. You can find it in the following location: C:/Users/(your user name)/Saved Games/Tracks.

To upload here, select "Go Advanced" option below the Quick Reply message box. That'll take you to the fully optioned reply page. scroll down and you'll see: "Manage Attachments". Click it. The rest should be obvious.

Thanks, Ironhand for the info -- I will try to save and upload track file.

After you select the paper clip for attachments and select the file, scroll the window to the right and you will see the Upload button, it hides off to the right of the window.

Ok, I see TWO "UPLOAD" buttons on the right but no "paper clip". I clicked both "UPLOAD" buttons but can't see the file in the "Preview Post" screen. I'm getting the error "Your file of 6.76 MB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 5.00 MB for this filetype." It was such a short flight to begin with (about 5 minutes). Why is the file so large? Can I edit it to make it smaller? Or maybe turn it into a zip file? I will try to rename to a zip file.

EDIT: I just added ".zip" to the filename so it would upload.

NO AUTOPILOT.trk.zip

My first impression is that your joystick has very big noise. Try to make some dead zone.

Autopilot needs neutral stick to work. If you deflect your stick, it doesn't work, but it's switch is in ON position.

Yeah, my Logitech extreme3D PRO has a nasty big time spring and everytime Steam does a little update I have to re-calibrate it. I will set dead zone on all axis to 25 and try that, thanks.

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED! It was the joystick dead zone. Now AP works perfectly.

cofcorpse THANKS AGAIN for solving this problem!

For your info I have F15c standalone from Steam. I also have over 200 hours in my A10c standalone with no problems with anything.

Yes, I took control, set stick in neutral and everything works fine.

25 seems to be a good dead zone number for my stick. There's more than a few posts on the Steam forums about the same AP problem. I hope they read this one!

Thanks cofcorpse for all your help!

4. Control system

1) FFB must be working.

2) AFCS Attitude Hold - holds pitch and roll. All three CAS channels must be on to switch Attitude hold on. ATT HOLD is automatically disengaged when: load factor is greater than +4g and less than 0g, CAS axis is disengaged. Is temporary disengaged when: pitch is greater than +-45, roll is greater than +-60 or stick forces is applied. Can be engaged by A key

3) AFCS Altitude Hold - holds altitude and roll. Attitude Hold must be engaged to switch Altitude hold on. ALT HOLD is automatically disengaged when: Attitude hold is disengaged, vertical velocity exceeds 2000 FPM. Is temporary disengaged when: roll is greater than +-60, stick forces is applied. Can be engaged by H key

4) Autopilot lights are working incorrect. It's known issue. WIP You can check mode by its switch

Hi everybody!

For me Alt hold doesn't work, plane trimed in level flight, CAS switches on, no imput on the controls(I even tried huge dead zone on the 3 axis)! Att hold works, the switch moves on and the light comes on.

F-15C AUTOPILOT FRUSTRATION

Ok here is a test track of the F-15C autopilot with my Saitek X52 and pro flight rudder:

My dead zone for the imput is 5 for All axis. The plane is almost in straight level flight( Who is able to get a 0 vertical speed particularly with a 1.0 gain at the trims? I use 0.5) As you can see ATT HOLD works and between 2 ATT HOLD I tried to engage the ALT HOLD but without success. The last 30s, I increased dead zone on all axis to 15 but the result is the same.

I noticed this problem arose since the 2 last updates, but because I don't use the AP every time I can't be 100% sure. Furthermore I also have a DCS Beta install with the very same problem.

Cheers

How did you try to engage ALT HOLD? I see no key pressing. Neither H, nor LAlt+2 (keys by default).

Hi cofcorpse!

I engaged ATT HOLD by pressing AltF2(You can see it worked) and ALT HOLD with H and I tried also another combination: AltF1.

Was it the left or the right Alt key?

I use "A" or "Left Alt + 1" for ATT HOLD.

I use "H" or "Left Alt + 2" for ALT HOLD.

I just use the single letter commands as it's easier. Just look on the right side tree of lights to see that it activates.

You want to make sure you are in somewhat level flight when using these controls. I usually try to make sure I'm less than 5 degrees pitch up/down before pressing these keys.
