Absolut Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) the solution of the landing aproach is simple. I got my struggle too, but once i read the Manuals and dont concentrate on Youtube tutorials my landings become perfect. the power of Manual do not underestimate Young Padawan ;) Edited January 14, 2015 by Absolut
Djent33 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 The manual says not to land when loaded like a pig and to be wise with cool alcohol when using radar.
Cruiser18 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I used to have a damn hard time figuring out how to land properly, but then I watched some of Bunyap Sims video's on youtube where he meticulously goes through the landing procedures as described in the manual and put the plane down, as well as watching cockpit recordings of how real pilots do it. These days I often land at some 330 km/h, but it's important to do some good flaring right at the end, hit that sweet spot of 1-2 M/S of drop and reducing the throttle by some 10% to get it all the way down and reduce the chance of bouncing off the runway. The nose usually finds it's way down on the pavement by itself and then it's just a matter of deploying the chute. Setting the RSBN channels for the airport and do a ILS landing to give you an optimal approach angle also helps quite a bit to get down safely.
Esac_mirmidon Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Also don´t land with more than 6800-7300 Kg. fuel. This is the maximum landing weight acording the famous Egyptian Mig-21 Bis manual. If people are trying to land creating a mission with 100% internal fuel, starting up, take off and then landing with almost maximum weight they are going to fin troubbles. xxJohnxx Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Also don´t land with more than 1200L internal fuel. This is the maximum landing weight acording the famous Egyptian Mig-21 Bis manual. If people are trying to land creating a mission with 100% internal fuel, starting up, take off and then landing with almost 2000L they are trying to land with more than the maximum landing weight. Maximum allowable according to the included manual is even less. 700l without payloads, 500l with payloads. Hadwell Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 the mig-21 is super easy to land with 600~ KG of fuel, if you get back to your field with more fuel than that, just fly circles around the field with your afterburner on or get rid of the fuel... tsb47 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 You are right John. i´ve edited my post to correct values. Thanks. I find landing the Mig21 is much easier after the last update. I still find the landings difficult if there is a crosswind or landing weight exceeds the specified limitations. Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit | i7-4790K@4GHz | 8GB RAM | GTX970 347.52
