lesnyborsuk Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Hi! I am preparing a short, closed presentation about aviation and flight simulation for my co-workers. I remember, I have seen photo of National Guard soldiers in classroom training with DCS A10Cs on PCs. I can't find it anymore. Does any of you have any clue where to find it? Thank you! Lukasz I remember when sex was safe and flying was dangerous.

GGTharos Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) What you saw was them training with DTS A-10C. (Desktop Training System). This is different than DCS, the entertainment product, even if the screenshots make them look similar. The functionality is not the same, the aircraft systems are not the same. Are there common elements? Yes. Was DTS experience used to create DCS? Yes. Is the DCS A-10C the same as the DTS A-10C? Nope. Similar but not the same, we don't get the same systems fidelity. The intent of the DTS, IIRC, was to train pilots to operate the new cockpit. Anyway, I'd like to see your presentation as well :) Hi! Dappman Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I know this is old but where is their head tracking system? And it looks like their using Logitech joysticks instead of the Thrusthmaster Warthog.
Evilducky Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I know this is old but where is their head tracking system? And it looks like their using Logitech joysticks instead of the Thrusthmaster Warthog. I do believe that that is more for avionic sakes than flying / fighting. As you can see, they pretty much have everything thats changed from the A style to the C style cockpit on the screen.
cichlidfan Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 And it looks like their using Logitech joysticks instead of the Thrusthmaster Warthog. Those are Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X joysticks.
