Nealius Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I've been having this issue for a few months now (I don't get to fly often). The Pinkie switch on my X52 works perfectly fine. Windows recognizes it, Falcon BMS recognizes it. But at some point a few months ago DCS just stopped recognizing it despite the fact that I changed nothing. Here are screenshots from my controller setup in DCS as well as Windows showing that the button does indeed work. I have added the Pinkie switch (Button 6) as a Modifier, so why is it not working?
Flagrum Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Huh? "JOY_BTN6 + JOY_BTN4" is actually saying that you mapped Button 4 together with the modifier Button 6 - a normal button combination, similar to any key combination (i.e. LSHIFT + P ... LSHIFT is the modifier, P the actual key). Seems I don't understand what your problem is ...?
Nealius Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 The problem is that it doesn't work. I press and hold Button 6 while pressing Button 4 to perform a certain action, however DCS only recognizes my Button 4 input and ignores my Button 6 input.

If the modifier is button 6, press and hold 6, then press 4. Depending on my reading comprehension, it seems maybe you were doing it backwards? Nealius Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Nope, not doing it backwards. It works perfectly fine with Falcon BMS and DirectX shifting. I don't understand why DCS isn't recognizing it. I'm tempted to do a reinstall but I'm afraid of losing all my skins.
McBlemmen Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Go into your saitek profiler , go to grid view (top left) and check that in your profile the pinky switch is NOT set as a modifier, this will make the pinky switch a normal button and allow you to use it as modifier in DCS. the reason it doesnt recognize you pressing it is becouse it is set as a modifier in your saitek profile Edited January 11, 2015 by McBlemmen
Nealius Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Well this is just retarded. With the UH-1H and P-51D I don't use a profile at all, but by default the profiler has Mode 1+Pinkie, etc. I made a blank profile deleting those and it works with the Huey (knock on wood). But, my A-10C profile never had those to begin with and it still didn't work.....this is just bizarre.
amigastar Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) I remember someone had the same problem and he had to leave Saitek x52 flight controller properties open while in game and than it worked. Maybe try this idk. edit: you have to be on the mfd page Edited January 11, 2015 by amigastar 1
txmtb Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) Have you tried deleting C:\Users\xxxx\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\modifiers.lua and then re-creating the modifier in the Options? The controller ID is stored in that modifiers file and if it's changed for whatever reason, the sim won't see it pressed. I noticed differences and went to the configurations page to see things weren't set as I had set them. No update No changes by my hand. strange anomaly I guess.
