Hi guys!

I have the Warthog for quite some time now, and I recently observed, that the joystick wobbles in the neutral position, so there is a little wiggle room and it's quite distracting and it tempers my initial delight with this HOTAS.

Are you having the same "problem" and if yes, did you manage to fix it somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Manuel

Take the base apart and check the black O-ring. After some 9 months or so they become very pliable and tend to stretch. One of the sides may have popped out. If that is the issue, you can get a replacement from Thrustmaster or a teflon ring from one of the DCS forum members: HEMPSTEAD.

do you have an extension mod or just the plain warthog

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

I have no mods whatsoever, just the plain stick and it does not wiggle left or right, just slightly forward and back, which gives it some sort of unstable feeling overall.

mine definitely has some "wiggle" room in the center

i also use an extension (wasyl FTW!)

in-game i keep a very small deadzone setting - mine is set to "1" - i would set it to zero but the autopilot won't engage with a deadzone of zero.... : / (@cofcourse - can we fix this? please??) : )

i also use custom settings (curves?) in-game for pitch

basically starting at 10% stick deflection i set it at 5% elevator response - and at 90% stick deflection there is 95% input --- and the slope of the line between those two points is constant

that way i have "small" inputs around the center (for very sensitive formation flying - do it alot..)

and at extreme maximum aft stick deflection input peters off - if i want MAX elevator input, during that last ten pct of aft stick deflection, i have to input more and more and the slope is less and less (if i really want it, i gotta PULLLLL - which it should be that way, in my mind, because this must clearly be an extreme case - and i "think" i want finer control out there at the limits)

roll is basically 1:1
