Mike Busutil Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) Can you please tell me if the Air Bleed doors 1.5 mach test button and the aileron booster test button are modeled? If so, how are they used? Also I cannot find any info in the flight manual about the type 81 IFF transponder switch. How is it different than the SOD switch? Thank you. Mike Busutil Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 Why is there no sound coming from the APU when it get's turned on? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/
Art-J Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Because it's not an APU per se, but an ordinary starter-generator. A bit unfortunate description/translation of this device might cause confusion, as Your example shows. Dolphin887 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Air bleed doors and aileron boosters test buttons are not implemented at the moment. Since they have no practical purpose in the game, they were left behind early in development... Purpose of these buttons is to test normal operations of air bleed doors and BU-45 hydro boosters on ground, during the aircraft inspections. We will implement them. Type 81 transponder switch is actually SRZO (IFF) ON/OFF switch. We should have mentioned that more precisely in the manual. SOD is ATC/or other ground based radars signal intensifier (you can think of it as a simple transponder), which aids to the ATC crew during the aircraft guidance procedure (inbound, approach, landing, individual aircraft, group, rough - long distance, fine - precise). Unfortunately, both devices have very limited usability in DCS. However, some developers found them useful for ATC/GCI applications. Power through superb knowledge, training and teamwork.
