GeorgeSloan Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Hi guys, in some serious need of help right now! I've learnt most of what I need to for the F15 but can't for the life of me work out how to navigate (yeah i know, pretty big issue). Can anyone provide me with a full guide? I've looked all over the internet and found screenshots on what to follow (the small mark on the heading indicator at the top of the HUD or the heading and course dial and to follow the small pentagon but i never end up where i need to be! Thanks for any help guys
kontiuka Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 The heading bug on the HUD and the HSI will take you to your waypoint but not necessarily via the right course. If you steer to keep the steering bar (the long vertical bars on your HUD or HSI) centered, that should keep you on course. When you arrive at your current waypoint, your NAV system should switch to the next waypoint automatically. Otherwise, you have to manually switch waypoints (I think it's LCtrl-`).
Wrecking Crew Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Check out the Kneepad, too. The map screens in it have a capability to 'show' you where you are with little carats (^ < > ). RShft-K or RCntrl-K or some key combo will put the carat onto the Kneeboard map, and you can press that a few times to see where you are and where you are going. escaner Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 The heading navigation indicator in the HUD is bugged. When out of the visible scale, it can point randomly either side, not indicating the shortest turn. Actually usually points the wrong way. In that case, better use the HSI for navigation. You can rely on the HUD navigation pointer when it is inside the visible scale. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
