I'm not sure the best way to submit this but I don't see a dedicated bug forum, and the last post in the FC3 bug thread suggested posting new bugs in appropriate sub forums. This has been reported by a few of us in another thread here:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128860

But I'm not sure if it is on anyone's radar so I'm posting a dedicated "bug" thread. It seems that many of us do not get the mission accomplished message at the end of mission and thus can't continue the campaign. I've attempted this mission at least 10 times. I've parked everywhere I can park and it just won't advance. I know it isn't happening to everyone but it certainly seems like it is happening to at least a few of us.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd like to continue the campaign instead of being stuck in infinite familiarization flights. :pilotfly:

You won't get a mission completed message at the end.

You need to achieve 100pts to succeed, you can check this with the score window [button ' ].

The mission requires you to navigate correctly using the HSI, follow all the waypoints 1-9 keeping the 'course deviation indicator' centralised. This way you pass through all the waypoints successfully and trigger Matt's messages.

This is a navigation mission, do not try and engage for combat just concentrate on following your waypoints.

When you pass over a waypoint they automatically change to the next wp but you may need to manually change the waypoints for wp8 and wp9, this could be a bug with the F-15, or it could be the fact that wp7 and wp8 are close. So keep an eye on your waypoint to make sure it auto changes, if not do it manually.

You must land at Vaziani, not Tblisi or Songalung which will be the first airbases you see, all 3 are bunched together. You must hit wp9 which is final for Vaziani.

When you come to a stop on the runway your score will go up from 50 to 100 to acknowledge completion.

Interesting. I've had Wags' messages come up at all the way points, was cleared to land, landed on the correct runway, and have never completed the mission. Do I have to STOP on the runway? If this is the case I think that should be changed. I've never stopped on the runway because it seems a runway should be cleared as soon as possible AND ATC directs you to nearest taxiway and to park. I'll try it but if that's the one thing I needed to do to get the points and complete the mission I'm going to be a bit peeved.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try it and if it works I'll post back here.

SPOLER ALERT - Bear Trap Campaign, first mission.

I have been checking the mission in the editor. The first mission is just navigation. You need to overfly 9 areas, getting a message in each of them. When you overfly all of them, you should get the mission success. No need even to land.

Here, a screenshot of your flight plan and the circles determining the 9 areas to overfly.

Altitude is ignored. You need to pass pretty close to the wp for it to automatically change. Do it manually when it does not

So...funny story....the other night I was attempting to fly this again to get a track put up. I wanted to fly it as correctly as I could so I made sure that I hit every way point (had been doing that all along but I may have missed the last one - more on that in a moment). I took my time and flew as correctly as I could.

When Wags told me to contact ATC I did so and started my approach as normal. However, there was a way point behind me. I had to circle back and pick it up. On a side note, I don't land correctly typically speaking. I come in a little steep and flare before contacting the runway. I've been trying to do more appropriate landings recently so that's what I was attempting on this mission; to hold the correct angle of attack and control my decent with throttle. Well, I descended a bit quickly this way and "landed" just short of the threshold. It didn't seem like a rough landing but my plane exploded. I quit in frustration and didn't save the track.

But last night when getting back on to try again I was in mission 2.

So this leads me to a lot of questions. Why is there a way point (presumably) behind me after I hit the way point that says to contact ATC? Maybe it isn't behind me. From the map escaner posted it doesn't appear that there is, but after Way Point 9 a mark was on my HUD that forced me to turn about 180° and fly for about 10 seconds or so before it cycled back to the airport. Either there was another way point or more likely the game made me THINK I hit WP9 but didn't cycle.

Why isn't there some kind of indication to let someone know they passed a mission? I know this is supposed to be realistic but it is still a game and it's odd that the game didn't tell me that I got enough points to pass or whatever the mission requirements were.

It's also odd that the 10 times I hit all but 1 way point (presumably) but still had all the radio messages play and landed and parked I didn't pass but when I got the last way point (presumably) and then crashed short of the runway I was successful. I'm getting mixed signals here!

At any rate, if anyone is still struggling with this I would pay close attention to the WP marker on your HUD and just make sure you hit them all. For me, I got focused on the runway once I had clearance to land and just assumed my next WP was there when I had to turn around and grab another one for it to advance. I have no idea if it was a new WP (doesn't appear to be) or if it just didn't trigger WP9 when I flew through it. It seemed that WP 2 did the same thing to me early in the mission but I'm not sure. At that point I wasn't fixed on the runway so I noticed it.

There is a bug with the navigation pointer in the HUD. When it is not in the part of the bearing tape displayed and it shows stuck to either side, do not trust it. Perhaps the WP is 90º to the right and it is indicating left.

Look down on the HSI and turn the shortest side accordingly. You can follow the HUD navigation mark when it enters in the HUD field of view.

I guess that might be spoiling your navigation.

Edit:

Actually it might happen turning from WP8 (EAST) to WP9 (Final). It is a 70º right turn and proabably the HUD was indicating left, so you did a 290º turn to the left.

My guess is that you miss wp9 but still trigger the message thanks to being in the trigger zone around wp9 or pass over wp9 and your nav stays on wp9 making you believe you have to turnaround. The problems of not hitting the trigger and failing this mission probably arise when going from wp8 to landing, bypassing wp9 and going for ils instead.

Well, it cycled through WP 8 nicely. I watched the mark on my HUD bearing tape and when it slid past the WP cycled and I turned to WP 9. I flew straight to WP 9, it slid past, I got the radio chatter, etc, but the mark was still on the side of the HUD tape.

I'm not positive it is a bug, but if altitude doesn't matter for the way points and I went straight for it, I'm not really sure why it wouldn't trigger. I have to stress that I have never once gone straight for the runway after WP 8, but only after I thought I hit WP 9.

Thanks for the help guys. It doesn't feel "resolved" but hopefully anyone having this issue can just pay attention to their bearing tape or the HSI and get it sorted.
