2gb is a concern. It'll be better, but don't expect max details. The 970 gtx is a great card, but likely a new price point. Videocardbenchmarks.net is a good resource for comparison.

my price range is a round the 450 euro`s

how well dcs runs on your system now? i wonder if it would be better option spend a bit more and get new intel cpu + motherboard + memory + graphic card (nvidia)(doesn't have to be latest model, 9-series is good, but 7 is also fine, 3 or 4 Gb of memory on-board)

Best advice on any upgrades right now, is to wait and see what Edge brings with it.

The Strix is a cut down version of the full GTX960, and you'd probably be better waiting a while because prices will fall, and you'll get more bangs for your bucks in 6 months anyway.

With Edge using more system resources, it may well be that you'll see an improvement with your current setup, or it may just show up weaknesses all of us have in our systems that may make upgrading necessary anyway, but what will that weakness be? Mobo, memory CPU or GPU?

I'd hold on to your hard earned for a little longer unless an upgrade is essential due to hardware failures. If it ain't broke, don't fix it until you know what to aim for, and right now there is a huge question mark about what will give the biggest step up under DX11 and Edge.

Also true is that a slower card will not be faster just because of EDGE.

A slower CPU will always be slower and there NEVER is the best time to buy a PC, that is a very very old wisdom. You always find reasons to hold off, be it EDGE, DX12 newest NV or ATI announcements, Intels new flagship or DDR4 at better prizes....jeeez what you waiting for ???

When building a PC, and especially a gaming rig, there is 1 golden rule above all others:

Make sure that all your goodies are in 1 line, performance wise. There is no reason to couple a fat GTX with an inferior CPU and a crappy board and small PSU and some shuffled RAMS.

examples:

i5-z97chipset-gtx970/980-ssd-750w

or

i7-z99-SLI_980-pcie_ssd-1+kW

don't put money in a big fat CPU if you have to buy a lower end GPU then, balance it all out or buy one after the other when money allows to have an overall balanced system.

just my 2 cents
