gaspuch62 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Is pilot health simulated in DCS at all? For example if you forget to turn on the oxygen supply or set up climate controls will that have any adverse effects down the road?

Home Fries Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Hypoxia is in fact modeled in DCS. I challenge you to hop in the MiG-21, turn off the oxygen, and then fly at altitude for some time. You'll start to see things get really blurry. Ralfidude did a video a while back that shows the effects in the A-10C (about 50 seconds in): -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

Exorcet Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I was really pleased with the hypoxia in the MiG-21. I only experienced it once Very subtle, when I finally realized what was going on, I dived straight for the deck. Never got the B-52's I was chasing, but exciting none the less. Bring your monitor closer and sit back and up properly in your chair with your controls at a comfortable height, if you can. Leaning forward, having to lift your arms too high, or rolling your shoulders forward to reach your controls will wreack havoc on your back and shoulder muscles. For me raising my chair some and pulling my monitor toward me so I can still see while sitting back has made a massive difference - no more pain. And I say that coming from being in some severe pain after playing for a few hours.
