You can do that in 'Prepare Mission', which makes more sense anyway.

/r/Hoggit uses custom liveries for frequent players.

Custom skins are pre-assigned in their missions to specific aircraft. The owner of the livery then boards "their" plane to fly with their custom paint job.

It all has to be setup before the mission is started.

It doesn't really make sense that a ground crew could paint your entire airplane on the tarmac while-u-wait style. :)

Practice makes perfect.

^^^ This.

I was just talking about SP. In MP, you have to take the skin that is on the aircraft you select.

I remember a long time ago back in FC1/LOMAC where you could choose your skin and your payload before entering the cockpit in MP :)

(i think i made this screenshot while testing the 3GO Su-27 model back when it was first released, hence the yellow bands on the pic)

Hello

Could you please consider adding the following feature in DCS 2.0:

You are in a (SP or MP) mission and you talk with the Ground Crew to change the weapons. In this menu it would be great to select the plane skin you want.

Have a nice day.

I think this is possible by a LUA script expert: reload/change the skin ingame while we are on the ground and rearming/repairing the AC.

May the THRUST be with you

It doesn't really make sense that you could get something wrong on the start or taxi and just esc back to the briefing and load a brand new jet like nothing happened, but it's just a nature of being a sim.

I agree with the OP, I believe you should have the option to select the skin of the aircraft you load into from the brief. Or, at least give the mission designer the option to allow the client to select a skin.

For instance, in a very scripted story mission in which you are flying in XX squadron, it obviously doesn't make sense to be able to change the aircraft paint. However, in a general public multiplayer server, such as the 104th, it would be nice to select a different skin to differentiate yourself from everyone else when there's no particular livery required.

Maybe best solution would be if a mission designer can set a checkbox "Allow players to change skin"...

IMHO the best of the best solution would be if a mission designer can set a checkbox "Allow players to change skin"

and another checkbox "Allow to download and see personal skins of other clients" .

In this case not only you but other players will be able to see your personal skin on your aircraft. - just like how it works in the old IL-2 Sturmovik sim online.

Indeed, the best of the best solutions.

If download is not possible (file sizes) than always show the first skin of a plane of the current country...
