Hello all. I'm working on my weapons mod. I would like to add a couple weapons to the MiG-21 but the "MiG-21Bis.lua" file is not in the same location as the other aircraft...

Location for default aircraft lua's:

DCS World\Scripts\Database\planes\A-10C.lua (used A-10C as example)

**here I am able to pick which weapons are available when selecting loadouts in the editor.

Where is this file for the MiG-21? The F-86 and MiG-15 have this file in their folder located in "CoreMods" but I can NOT seem to find the MiG-21 file anywhere.

I found a file called "MiG-21bis.lua" in "CoreMods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\UnitPayloads", but that isn't what I need.

DOES ANYONE KNOW? PLEEEEEASE HELP ME :helpsmilie:

You want to edit the allowed loadouts per pylon, right?

That would normally be a lua file that is referenced from ...\coremods\aircraft\<module>\entry.lua and would usually be <module>.lua

But in case of the MiG-21BIS the relevant file (either MiG-21BIS\Entry\Aw or ...\Am) is precompiled. That means, it is basically binary code that can not be edited anymore.

So, we modders are simply out of luck here...

(and I repeat it also here again that I am no fan of that approach, LNS! :noexpression:)

Had I know that I wouldn't be able to play with this module like the others then I would not have purchased it.

Seriously?

Such a minor matter in the big scheme of things.

Why don't you just ask LN to add it themselves as an option? If the real aircraft could do it, then LN wouldn't ignore your request.

Hmmm, what "weapons the MiG-21bis can use in real life" that are not implemented in this module are You thinking about then? Because If we really wanted to be historically correct, we would have to actually scratch two types of weapons, not include new ones.

P.S. - Weapons used as prototypes (i.e. GUV gunpod) or on upgraded ships (i.e. Romanian Lancers) don't count.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Confirming our MiG-21 needs 4x AIM-54's on it. :P

Then I wonder, how are we going to lock the targets from 100 miles away if we can't even look further than 20 :music_whistling:?

Funny idea though :)

Hi! I'm from Russia.

Please tell me how to edit files:

..\ DCS World \ CoreMods \ aircraft \ MiG-21BIS \ Entry \ Am

and

..\ DCS World \ CoreMods \ aircraft \ MiG-21BIS \ Entry \ Aw

Thanks!

That is not possible. LNS does not want that.

What about the other way around?

What are the class names for R-3 and KH-66 missiles?

I want to give them to Su-17 and Mig-23 to simulate older scenarios.
