WIP!

Complete panels in 3D will be available soon.

I will upload pictures regularly with the dimensions I am working with.

Please help me correct the errors for a more accurate product.

All the panels will be uploaded in STEP file format for everyone to use.

Kind regards

Lars.

Today's work:

Fine tuning panels on the left side of the cockpit.

Designing some of the rotating switches.

Still much work to do as you guys can see.

I don't know if people are watching this post, but I will continue to update it and share my work.

Hopefully some will find this useful.

And again, please correct my work if I'm far away from creating something useful.

Nice!

That is awesome. I was going to do this myself awhile back but couldn't decide on a control scheme so the project went south. With my CNC router getting closer to reality and DCS-BIOS this will certainly come in handy. Can't wait to see the rest of it. Thanks!

Thank you guys for the feedback, really appreciate it.

My plan is to use Oculus Rift or Valve/HTC VR (whatever comes first) combined with the cockpit.

Best of two worlds? Do you guys think that can work?

If so it will be the best experience IMO.

It would work if you could use something like Cast AR that can give you the VR view but still let you see your cockpit. Otherwise there will be a disconnect with not being able to see the cockpit.

I got DK2 myself, and placed my Throttle and stick to mach the position in the virtual cockpit.

In that case it worked very well, I cant see my hands tough but its a strange feeling when your hand connect to the throttle and stick.

Some progress on the left console.

I will also try to replicate buttons and share the 3D files with you guys if interested?

Need a break from the left side panels, so I started on the right side...

Here is some work in progress of the INT EXT LIGHT panel with some knobs.

Please look at the STEP. file provided and give me corrections if I'm way of.

The CDU with keys will most likely be done today. All the panels that are shown in this thread (so far) are not 100% finished or true to the original panels. But I am doing my best to recreate them as good as possible with the information I got.

Again, all feedback and help from you guys are very appreciated!

Thank you very much.

Autodesk Inventor is the program I am using.

My goal is not to be the only one benefiting from these drawings/models.

I will also make DWG. files for those who want to create or modify the panels to their own needs.

Started on the CDU!

Adjustments need to be done and some details are missing, also think I need to make the buttons smaller...

What do you guys think ?

This is beautiful work. I really love things that are solid modeled.

Someone could take these STEP files, shrink them down to scale sizes and 3D print perfect tiny wittle controls for a scale model. Accurate to the switch.

Come to think of it, how small could you make a fully working pit :)

Now I have a reason to start learning my CNC and 3D printer in a faster pace :)
