Dudikoff Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 It should be noted though that some MiG-29Gs are specially equipped to use wing drop tanks, so they aren't necessarily the same aircraft as "normal" MiG-29As. -SK Yes, but they weren't inherited in this config; they were modified after the unification along with engine thrust reduction, navigation and communication updates, etc. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. GGTharos Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 No it wouldnt... russian designers would design a device to do super uber cobra that would slam right begind your 15.. and not only that, it would induce such a shockwave that your puny capitalist fuel would boil and explode inside your aircraft :P :joystick: :D Your silly air-show maneuver wouldn't matter. By the time you got anywhere near the 15's the nuclear-tipped 54D's would have come down from orbit and destroyed the outdated commie air force ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
nscode Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Outdated? Did I mention the BpП-668 time traveling device that comes with every on-board ЧС-223 tea maker unit? :D (ps. they actually do put tea makers on newer strategic bombers ) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Red Star Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I am forbiden to participate in this discussion. ;) Why not? It was a legit question. The MiG-29A was armed with it in 1.1 and 1.11, Kenan was questioning why it was removed in 1.12a. Thats all. It wasn't like he was asking it to be armed with 4 of them. ;) :megalol:
britgliderpilot Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 What kind of egress system? If that's the case, then Zvezda, or at least their sales office, sells overpriced stuff. That's 30000 for fiberglass, a 4m telscopic pole with explosives, a parachute, and some more plastic and a rocket in the form of a headrest. And it all weighs 17kg. Is it worth it's weight in solid gold? perhaps  Um. An airbag under the seat cushion that expands and pushes you out of the cockpit. It's a lot cheaper than an ejector seat . . . . . Have seen someone demonstrating a rocket-powered egress system for a glider, but to the best of my knowledge that was only ever tested on the ground. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg

Mine also comes with a CD player and MP3 features! ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Yeah, it was a lot like the helicopter version, also with a tow rocket. 5000 euros for an airbag? Hmm, last times I checked those things cost around 500, so, 10 folding the price is some way of encouraging the development and spread of lightweight escape systems.
