Without explaining exactly what you did, it is hard to determine what the problem could be.

Did you use external power?

Did you move the fuel lever in the described way?

1. You must have your canopy opened.

2. You have to ask for ground power (and they will have to comply).

3. It's good if you have on the right panel only generator switched on.

4. Start the engine than when it reaches 600 rpm press HOME once than when it reaches 1200 rpm Move the fuel lever all the way down (hit HOME few times)

Gents,

good descriptions but still the same I followed Pedros pics from DCS to the letter, shot 11 ... flipped starter and zip, nothing spins up ... hold for 2 secs or 20 minutes nothing!

I cannot be the only one struggling to start, I have all the dcs modules and never had any trouble like this grrrrrr.

Mig is fine as long as i dont cold start

any more ideas?

I was struggling until I found out you need to contact ground control for power, and pressing home for the fuel lever.

Are you pressing the starter button and then pressing 'HOME' to lower the lever 50%?

There is one more possibilitty. You need to have your throttle al the way down (idle position). I've recently noticed that my "shitty" joystick is somehow not working properly. When I was trying to place my throttle to idle position it seems to start shaking. That means it is basicly broken and I need to set a dead zones to it. When it shakes that means it's not in the idle position at 100%.

Afetr i add some dead zone to the throttle everything was working just fine :) Let me know if what I was trying to explain make any sens for you dude :)

Or you have the Thrumaster Warthog HOTAS system so it cant be the option 4 U.

Cheers.

You've watched this tutorial?

That tutorial does not work with the latest version of the Mig15. You need number ground power for it to start which is not mentioned in this video.

Also, apparently, battery switch is left off in the real aircraft when you connect ground power and ignition switch switched off after engine start.

There is a good post from a real life Mig 17 driver in the general section. Real good read.

With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.
