Hello DCS, a few buddies and I have decided to throw together a small simming community for DCS called the 122nd Fighter Wing.

Every pound for air to ground.

The 122nd Fighter Wing is a squadron for DCS World, a popular combat flight and ground combat simulator.

We have a Teamspeak3 server and a temporary website all set up for now.

http://122ndfw.enjin.com/

Just putting this information out there, and if anybody was looking for a group to wing up with than we don't bite and would be glad to have you. :joystick:

We do need fast movers! So far it's just me and one other 15 pilot covering the hawgs, we need at least two more.

When do you folks fly? I've been checking the server list and never see your squad. I've also PMed Kippy but didn't receive a reply.

We try to have missions every Friday night at about 9pm central, but if you hop on our team speak you can usually catch me almost all afternoon and I can slap something simple together for us.

Edit: I'm busy at the moment, I should be on TS later today.

P.S. I'll be having words with Kippy for you. ;)

Woah diddly.... I didn't even think people would pay attention to this.

I guess I underestimated things....

Well, I'll try to answer all of your questions.

Missions/Day Times:

Well, we don't have too tight of a schedule.

If we do get some more guys in the squad, we'll all sit down and discuss a proper schedule on mission times, training nights, etc. After all, we want to be flexible and offer schedules that work for our pilots.

Right now, our primary event is every Friday night starting at 9PM Eastern we run a scenario mission. The point of the scenario mission is to emulate a realistic modern-battle feel, and the missions are often designed by myself or Mar.

My missions tend to have a complex plot, one that could easily occur in real life and often times the plot includes more than 1 mission. (ex. A plot about Georgia invading Southern Russia may go on for several scenario nights and multiple missions)

What aircraft we fly:

We fly everything! It doesn't matter, if you fly it, then we want you! Fast movers especially! I've also started work on the website for adding an F-18 unit, but of course we can't push that into the actual website until DCS actually releases the F-18. Also, the F-14 is a huge yes for the 122nd! If you plan on flying the hell out of the F-14 like I do upon it's release, Come on over! :smilewink:

Server list:

I'm currently working on getting the 122nd a dedicated serer with a 24/7 uptime that will run missions for a lot of players. This is proving to be difficult as designing big missions that include all kinds of aircraft is a major pain in the fanny. While I love the missions the 104th server runs, and the 104th really is a great server, I want the 122nd dedicated server to be unique. Thus, we will run our own missions. The 122nd server may not go up for some time though, as I want to make sure my missions work and are fun for all aircraft. Thus being said, I need testers! PM me for info!

Other than that, our servers are usually up 9PM Eastern to 1:30AM Eastern Friday Nights.

How we operate:

The 122nd is rather laid back on the ground. We often find ourselves chatting in Teamspeak when not flying, posting on the 122nd's forums, etc.

But in the air, the fun and games are over. We take everything seriously when we fly. PM me for more info on this as well.

Well, I hope that answers some questions! Feel free to keep posting on this thread, and I'll be sure to watch it closely this time around.

We do take things seriously when we fly, but not too seriously. :)

For example: I like to keep my 15s using proper brevity, but only because this makes us better fighters, not because I'm a hardass.

Hey guys,

Unfortunately I am almost always working on Friday nights; I do concert production for a living, so Friday & Saturday are almost always out of the question for me.

Other weeknights I'm more flexible, and as a result of my weird profession I do wind up with free time on weekday afternoons frequently. If that sounds like it could work I'd love to find a larger group of people to fly with.

Modules I own are:

Flaming Cliffs 3

KA-50

A-10C

P-51D

F-86F

Bf-109

FW-190

MiG-15

MiG-21

I am fairly proficient with the F-15, the Su-27/33, the F-86F, and the P-51D, but I've spent the most time in the F-15 as I am also currently designing a campaign for it.

In the process of learning the KA-50, then the Hawg is next on the list. I've gotten the 15 and the 21 off the ground in the tutorials, but not much else. Haven't even looked in the pit of the German fighters yet, but I snagged stuff for cheap during one of the sales and will get around to learning eventually.

No problem! Pop on teamspeak any time and scream bloody murder at me or kips and if we're not too busy with something to else well start blowing stuff up together!

By the way, I'm pretty good in the KA-50 and the A-10 myself, so if you need help with them let me know.

Great, looking forward to it!

I'm probably still way too green to benefit from any advice on either of those aircraft, but I'll definitely take you up on that once I get the basics down.

Right now I can get the KA-50 started and off the ground, but I've never flown a true heli sim so I'm still working on all those minor details that happen after startup.
