nandrews Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I was pleased and pleasantly surprised to find that my basic Saitek controls worked with the default a/c in DCS 'out of the box'. But then I bought and installed the Hawk and found that there are no mappings. As it looks very difficult to set-up new mappings, can I at least copy those from the Mustang or Su25 to enable me to fly? I have looked and tried Save, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks Nigel
Buzzles Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 As it looks very difficult to set-up new mappings It's really not. It's quite a simple process that takes a couple of minutes at most. As to your other question...not really*. There's no direct copy as every plane has its own control set up and settings files. Some people have already made some in the relevent sections (or in the DCS User Files on the main website), which may be more helpful to you. *Yes, you could copy the differences files over and then manually edit them in a text editor, but by the time you've done that, you could have mapped them in game, got flying, and probably flown a couple of dozen take off and landing circuits. Quaggles Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 While this thread doesn't provide explicit instructions it should help: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=132977 If you can't get it to work just let me know and I can provide more detailed instructions.
ED Team NineLine Posted April 28, 2015 ED Team Posted April 28, 2015 It is not recommended at all to copy control mappings from one aircraft to another. If anything differs, and it will, it could cause you serious issues with that module. Its best to take the time and map it out individually. average_pilot Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 And now that it can be done during simulation it's a lot easier to bind controls.
