Pilotasso Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 "my computer" right click "properties" then "advanced" under "perfomace", click "setings" and then there will be several tick squares. I think the one is "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" .
hitman Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 No-go...still got nastiness on the icons. Kula66 Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Make your background black then you won't see the highlighting ... thats what I do :)
anivanov Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 try first this - right click on empty place on desktop and in drop menu under Arrange Icons By remove confirmation from Lock Web Items on Desktop. if this doesn't work there is another way; i found this in informatic magazine. the second one is: firts step is do what Pilotasso wrote here: control panel>system>advanced> button settings > Performance > tab Visual effects confirm on Use drop shadows for icon labels. Then go to Control Panel > Display > tab Desktop > click on button Customize Desktop > tab Web. Here you have to remove confirmation from all pages on list under Web pages and from Lock Desktop Items

Wild.Bill.Kelso Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I had that when I set my Desktop to Web. To get rid of it I just turned the Web Desktop off. Rightclick on the desktop and select Properties. Select the Desktop tab. Click the Customize Desktop button at the bottom left. Click on the Web tab. Make sure nothing is checked. Edit: Ooops! I was 1 minute too late...
