I notice the same thing, when only 1 shake effect is working, its can be set to have right amount of volume/shake. But the moment another sound is played for another shake effect, it becomes to strong. I think this is because amplitudes are added on top of each other. I would like if this can be changed so that sound volumes of 2 or more sound files are not added to increase their volume.

Yes, I'm going to fix this issue.

There is a little problem that the issue doesn't appear at my own bass shaker device.

So I will need a kind of quick feedback from you guys, when I start to change Sound Module algorithms.

I think this can be achieved if sound files played are of different frequencies and phase so that they are not coherent?

I don't think Edin that 20 Hz gun fire sound can be too much coherent with white noise afterburner sound. I would rather start with trying

1) to clip amplitude at 0.8 - 1.0 level

or

2) to stop other effects play while, for instance, stall or gun fire takes place.

hm... 1) would be better I think - to clip amplitude

Andrey, one more suggestion from me:

The air brake sound is currently somewhat intermittent, I think the effect for this could be more smooth/even?

like afterburner effect? do you feel afterburner smoother then air brake or not?

Yes, afterburner is smoother than airbrake.

I want to say, I really like the auto-start feature now. The SimShaker Starter can be set to auto-start with Windows (or if you like you can start it manually), and once started, when you start DCS the SimShaker Module and Sound Module start automatically, and close automatically when you exit DCS  All great!

What I get though is, once started automatically, the Sound Module GUI pops up on Desktop (and SimShaker Module doesn't - it stays minimized). Could you make Sound Module also stay minimized and not pop up on Desktop?

I think the same thing but also I believe the sound is too low when first applied..

Also I tried the UH-1H and the Under 42%rpm sound was not there??

I think you shoud try to turn up controls at your BK Amp.

Hey Andrey,

I wonder if you already considered (stereo) G-force effects?

E.g. for the prop planes, here you have a constant vibration.

If you pull more g, this vibration could get stronger. If you dive (negative g) this vibration should be reduced.

Now, if one has a stereo shaker setup, one could add similar effect for the roll.

What do you think?

My basic idea is inspired by the G-Seats...

This should absolutely be a feature that is added asap!

This idea is great! It is similar to the IVibe/TFS3 G-Force effects and it is exactly what is missing from Andrey's most excellent software to complete the experience!

With this feature you would have a base engine vibration that is controlled by the analog throttle position, increasing intensity as you pushed throttle forward (you could even perhaps add a secondary programmable point where when crossed an AB effect would kick in with more rumble then full mil for jets).

Combine this with positional G-force effects based on analog joystick position which will move the basic engine vibration (or AB vibration) left to right when you apply left stick, right to left when you apply right stick.

the vibration will move from under your butt up to your back when diving and from your back down to under your butt when climbing. All of this is relative only to joystick/throttle positions in game.

The Analog based engine and positional effects are the base effects (always present). Then you use Andrey's flaps, gear, etc, effects with more pronounced vibes layered on top of this to achieve outstanding results.

Adding these features would result in an exceptional boost in immersion.

I think, one can actually extract the current g force in all axis. Which might be better as reading stick/throttle positions.

In Sept I've some weeks off work and I'll add additional shakers to my setup beside additional work on my lua/dcs extensions, in case Andrey needs some 'test subject' ;)

why do you say that?? because I don't hear the AB's or the rotor??

Hey Andre!

I tried the updated dashboard shake and vortex ring state fot the huey, and they are still way to strong. I have them set to 2, and as soon as the effect kicks in my buttkicker goes into red.

Thanks! :)

Hey JanTelefon,

Hm... I'm not sure it worth reducing effect sound files volume even more.

You may know, The_Nephilim regulary reports that he can't feel some effects at all.

I think, at this stage of our project, your turn guys to try moving controls at your BK amps or general volume slider at BK-tied soundcards. Could you please do that?

Andrey,

what do you think about delivering different 'sets' of sounds? One with a very low base frequency, one with a middle frequency and one with a high frequency? You could also try to add a wav plugin to you application which pitches your sounds automatically...

Olaf, I think one has all means to do it himself. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Andrey,

today I was bored and used the Mig-21 and A10C lua entries(send) to work on the MiG-15. Here is the result:

-- gear system
local LandingGearL_Up = MainPanel:get_argument_value(74)
local LandingGearL_Dwn = MainPanel:get_argument_value(75)
local LandingGearR_Up = MainPanel:get_argument_value(78)
local LandingGearR_Dwn = MainPanel:get_argument_value(79)
local LandingGearN_Up = MainPanel:get_argument_value(76)
local LandingGearN_Dwn = MainPanel:get_argument_value(77)
local LandingGearState = string.format("%.1f~%.1f~%.1f~%.1f~%.1f~%.1f", LandingGearL_Up, LandingGearL_Dwn, LandingGearR_Up, LandingGearR_Dwn, LandingGearN_Up, LandingGearN_Dwn)

-- Air brake light
local AirBrake3d = MainPanel:get_argument_value(124)

-- Flaps light
local FlapsPos = MainPanel:get_argument_value(59)

Flaps light only lights up if the flaps are fully extended. Here, we could use the handle state as well. Guns can be extracted like for the BF109 with:

from mainpanel_init.lua:
-- Weapon Sys
N37D_Ready_Lamp.arg_number = 95

NR23_TOP_Ready_Lamp.arg_number = 93

NR23_BOTTOM_Ready_Lamp.arg_number = 94

I tested gearlamps and speedbrake successfully using the MiG-21 string.

Hello Andre.

I am interested in trying out this software for my Buttkicker but was wondering how it works with my DCS copy of Steam. I read on the Dream Sim Team blog that is doesn't work with steam copy yet. Is that still correct? Thanks for your time.

Hello Brewnix,

to be exact:

For Steam and beta versions of DCS World export auto configuration feature doesn't work yet. For the first time Scripts folder containing export.lua should be copied manually from {DriveLetter}:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\ to {UserProfile}\Saved Games\DCS\.

Since it doesn't seem to be a problem to copy one time Scripts folder,

please feel free ty try out the software.

Ok so I thought I read that right, I have manually place the export.lua files, but where do I get those. I tried searching for the simshaker file in windows but couldn't find it.

Also is the right place to donate money for the Simshaker software at the Dream Sim Team's blog. Just making sure? Thanks again for your time.

I went to Program Files but on my computer I don't have a ED directory. I can find the DCS stuff in the Steam dir.
