I was hoping to gain a little FPS boost by disabling them but I cant find a key stroke or option, am I missing something or can you not disable them or flip them up or something? As I believe this is my first post here I hope its in the right place.:P

Yeah after I posted this I found the option in the options under game play tab, was hoping for a key in game to flip them on or off. Thanks for the speedy replies.:)

What's the real life situation on this anyway... to pilots ever fly with mirrors off?

I don't think they flip them off. Why should they? They don't get performance problems like we PC simmers do because it doesn't matter IRL. The sun shouldn't be more annoing than it is when it's in front of the cockpit. That's why they have toned visors on their helmets.

True, I guess it would be down to pilots discretion.
