DD_Ovy Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 ~S~Gents ! I am looking for practicing / flying the 21 with someone more experienced , maybe do some wingmanship tactics. I am from Romania and therefore i am on GMT+2 zone.
Zomba Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 You are always welcome in the AEF server. It's aimed at training and there are a few Mig-21 pilots. You're welcome in our Teamspeak dcsts.aef-hq.com.au:9988. As a bit of a public service we give free one on one training to anybody that wants it. I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.
DD_Ovy Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Guys i usually fire up my machine around 7pm my time (GMT+2) and fly for a couple of hours ( Il2 sturmovik also) If you want i can put my address so you can mail me ( or Skype) ~S~
DD_Ovy Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 I would be more than happy to improve my knowledge and skills ...When could we meet on TS? On workdays i can "fly" from ~4pm UTC for a couple of hours or so. I will be on AEF TS today - anyone to assist me? ~S~
Harle Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I would, were it not for my job. My holidays are gonna be tuesday-wednesday next week. What's your time zone?
EagleFox Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 What's your time zone? Look the first post better!

FeistyLemur Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I'm getting pretty comfortable with general flying, taking off, and landing after a couple weeks since getting started. The areas I struggle are situational awareness and combat in general, and gauging speed for following other aircraft. The idea of flying in formation seems extremely difficult to me right now. I've tried the guardians of the caucases campaign and the massive attack wave missions are just terrifying and disorienting, usually dead before I can even spot anything. Definitely is outside my ability level at this point.
DD_Ovy Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 @ Britchot - check pm mate ! @ Harle - i am GMT +2 , so pretty close - we should try getting in contact. I checked out AEF site , they are from Downunder (Australia) and there's a big difference in time zone. I can only see a match possible on weekends - to be agreed by whoever wants to join. Still awaiting their suggestion on how to do it.
Zomba Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) The AEF server is open to anyone and is up 24/7. The numbers vary greatly depending on time and day, it can range from just a few to over 20 or so, it's always a bit fluid like that. I work nights a lot so often up during your day hours, and so will be at least idling in the TS channel if not in server. The main mission on it uses the entire Georgian map and is designed to accommodate both training and general red versus blue air to air combat. All aircraft types are supported and the Mig-21 radios are compatible with the AWACs in use. So the doors don't close, just show up whenever you want. CoBlue Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The idea of flying in formation seems extremely difficult to me right now. I just did a simple formation mission that you can practice, download here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1459722/ i7 8700k@4.7, 1080ti, DDR4 32GB, 2x SSD , HD 2TB, W10, ASUS 27", TrackIr5, TMWH, X-56, GProR.
