It doesn't, it has me pretty worried actually because I have the controls exactly as I like them and I don't want them replaced with a bunch of cheap toggles to satisfy people who want an unrealistic landing gear toggle.

I was really hoping the developers would make a comment on this.

Can't you use the HOTAS software to emulate everything from the toggles?

Whisper of old OFP & C6 forums, now Kalbuth.

Specs : i7 6700K / MSI 1070 / 32G RAM / SSD / Rift S / Virpil MongooseT50 / Virpil T50 CM2 Throttle / MFG Crosswind.

The hotas software is undesirable. First of all it's yet another thing to be running. Second it introduces lag. I was testing it in pulse mode to see if the board I was planning to order to make a flight panel would work. there was a very noticeable latency between the switch flip and the switch actually doing anything. The board arrived and works beautifully with things as they are right now.

Also it turns the throttle into a virtual controller that you have to completely remap. And the most important thing of all, is toggles suck because they get out of sync. I want to press a button or flip a switch as I do now and not have to look down to check and make sure I had it synced. I don't want toggles on my keyboard either for the same reason.

It's not broken for anyone as it is, so I don't understand why hotas users have to have the game broken for them to benefit casual players. Just leave the existing commands alone and add extra toggles if you want.

I only wish the airbrake, afterburner and 2nd afterburner, ASP gun/everything else mode, and maybe the IR/SAR switches were single buttons

but what also might be nice is having the nose cone control being a single button press, and switching the radar from beam to scan mode... perhaps just turning the radar on and off would be cool... free up buttons for other less useful things...

what i do not want as a single button press are any switches with more than 2 selections, or switches that are hard to see without looking down, that you can't notice by sound or feel or some indicator. mostly talking about weapons selection, landing gear, and flaps....

The radar power switch has three selections though. I very much like OFF/PREP/ON assignments as they are, since I can manually turn it off and then jump between PREP and ON during fighting. Certainly wouldn't think to jump from ON to OFF all the time, I think that'd be unrealistic.

IR-SAR is one of few two-select switches that are crucial in dogfighting. I wouldn't tamper with that switch personally. My head is moving everywhere when in a merge, and I don't realistically expect a chance to verify its position whilst maneuvering and looking for cues.

I'm thinking the whole toggle thing is just a typo. Doesn't make much sense to have a realistic clickable cockpit and then limit the mappings to a single on/off function. Especially with something like the radar which is a 3 position toggle, wouldn't be possible. It most likely means in addition to the existing options. This would also be a problem with non momentary toggles. I'm currently building a control box to use in combination with my x55 and with regular toggle switches you'd have to map the same function twice and if by chance you click the landing gear up its going to be out of sync of you go to use the toggle which would be very annoying.

I hope they won't replace existing keys, but add new ones and let us decide which to use.

Also, I hope that multiple selectors will have two keys, one for moving the knob/switch in each direction.

There is a custom controls file on this forum that makes 2 and 3 position switches on a HOTAS work correctly with the MiG-21s various 3 position switches.

I got no problem with it. I have the two "Eng oper" switches bound for the safetybar(up removes it, neutral resets it) and the gearlever (up=up, neutral=neutral, down= down)

And since they only lock in the down position, I flick them up, retract my gear with one hand motion, and then let them snap back into neutral, locking the gearlever in the neutral position.

Works flawlessly.

Also set my IR/SAR and Air/Ground and RADAR switches that way for quicker access and easier coordination for what I want to do.

I hope so too, because I'd like to add some rotary encoders to my panel project for those controls.

Wait, let me see if I understand this correctly. The momentary up on the Eng Oper switch will retract the gear and continue even when its back to neutral, and not lock?
